The Samsung Lions surprised me once again, but it was a positive performance this time around! The most unpredictable baseball team in South Korea (and in the world?) beat the high-flying LG Twins by a combined score of 16-1 in the latest series.

The offense was excellent and the pitchers completely suffocated the opposition. The Lions will need to perform on the same level in the upcoming series against KT Wiz as well. The side from Suwon is just four victories off the KBO top spot, so it will be eager to find two wins.

You never know what to expect from the Lions and the last couple of weeks prove it. The team had some sublime performances against opponents like the NC Dinos, the LG Twins, and the Doosan Bears who are all almost certain for the KBO playoffs.

At the same time, Samsung failed to deliver results against the Lotte Giants and the Hanwha Eagles. It must be frustrating for the fans because the talent is obviously there but the lack of consistency is killing the Lions.

If it was any other team, I would probably expect a victory in game one against KT Wiz Suwon, but I can’t trust the Lions too much. A positive sign is that they are likely to start David Buchanan who has twelve wins this season already on a 3.74 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP.

The guy had some problems in his last several starts, but he’s still Samsung’s most reliable option. If the offense delivers at least some support, he could certainly lead the team to a victory in game one.

The last ten games of KT Wiz Suwon brought seven wins and the team is just four victories behind the top spot in the KBO standings. Both the offense and the defense have been above average this season and the squad can win in several different ways.

KT Wiz is expected to start an excellent pitcher like Odrisamer Despaigne on Tuesday and the guy has been great in 2020. His stats show a 3.96 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP over nineteen stats which was enough for thirteen wins.

He certainly could stop the Lions and if Suwon’s offense shows up, the team can win game one.

I believe that the winner and the totals odds for this game are about right. And yet, I’m not so sure about the totals line. The starting pitchers are solid, but they will play for around six innings and both sides are good on offense.

That’s why going for the over 8.5 is the best Samsung Lions vs. KT Wiz Suwon betting pick, in my opinion.
