Samsung Lions vs. Kiwoom Heroes Betting Preview – KBO, Saturday, August 29, 2020

The Samsung Lions were humiliated by the Hanwha Eagles on Thursday and the game on Friday wasn’t much different for the first three innings. The team was down 4-0 and can thank the rain that interrupted the game.

It was an absolutely abysmal display by the Lions against the worst team in the country and they now have to face one of the best next. The only bright light for Samsung is that Kiwoom Heroes have several injured pitchers.

I’m surprised by the odds here, to be honest. I expected to see the Kiwoom Heroes as the bigger favorites in the upcoming clash, based on what we’ve seen by both sides in the past week or so.

I’m not sure what happened with the Lions who looked solid only several weeks ago. The team has been inconsistent the whole season, but the recent series against the Eagles was nothing short of disgraceful. Samsung lost the opening game by 8-0 and was 4-0 down in the second clash before the rain interrupted it.

The offense is clueless right now and it’s not like the Lions faced the Dinos or another team that is known for shutting the opposition down, it was the Eagles!

I don’t think that the problems will go away against the Kiwoom Heroes, despite the fact that the Lions are starting the slightly better pitcher.

Chae Heung Choi has respectable stats but that won’t count for much if the offense doesn’t deliver once again.

The Kiwoom Heroes want the top spot in the KBO standings and they obviously won’t let the injury crisis stop them. The team is without several starting pitchers right now, but still won twice against the Lotte Giants.

The offense delivered big time, scoring a total of 17 runs across the two games of the series. The Heroes are feeling it right now and they face a team that just got demolished by the worst side in the country.

Kiwoom will start one of its weaker pitchers in Hyun Hee Han who had some trouble against top opposition. On the positive side, he is doing well against teams from the bottom of the table where the Lions are right now.

I believe that the Heroes should be able to win the game rather comfortably and I’m not sure why the odds are so high. I like the +165 for the favorite to cover the -1.5 handicap, but the -130 for a straight win is an excellent pick too.
