Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats Prediction for November 20, 2021

This game is more important for Hamilton than it is for Saskatchewan. The Roughriders are sitting at an impressive 9-4 and are second in the West Division. They have earned home field advantage for the Western Semi-Final against the Calgary Stampeders.
The Tiger-Cats on the other hand are trying to earn home field advantage themselves in the Eastern Semi-Final. They are 7-6, tied with the Montreal Alouettes who play the Ottawa Redblacks on Friday.
If Montreal wins their matchup this week, Hamilton will need to win in order to get home field advantage. If Montreal loses, Hamilton may opt to sit their starters to help prepare for the playoffs.
Let’s get into the breakdown and prediction for this game.
Odds for Roughriders vs. Tiger-Cats
Hamilton opens as favorites for this game at home as the 6 point favorite. The over/under total for this game is set at 42 as well. With Saskatchewan opting to rest some of their key players, Hamilton should have the upper hand here.
Some important players who are going to be rested for Saskatchewan include quarterback Cody Fajardo, receiver Duke Williams, defensive tackle Micah Johnson and center Dan Clark. They also have their next game set and ready for the playoffs, so this game doesn’t mean as much to them as it does to Hamilton.
Hamilton may care less about this game if Montreal loses, so it is important to know the outcome of that game before you place your bets. I will say that Montreal is currently a 13.5 point favorite over Ottawa, so it is likely that Hamilton is going to be playing their starters in this one.
Why Saskatchewan Will Cover the Spread
Saskatchewan has been great all season. They sit in second in the West Division behind the mighty Winnipeg Blue Bombers (11-2). Even though they are resting some important players for this game, it is possible that they cover the 6 point spread.
He is capable of having a big game for them and filling Williams shoes for a week.
A.C Leonard and Jonathan Woodard are tied for the league lead in sacks with 10, they can have a big impact on this game as well. They could both be wanting to lead the league in sacks and could help the Roughriders cover the spread or even win.
Why Hamilton Will Cover the Spread
Hamilton has a good chance of winning this one because of the important players on Saskatchewan sitting this one out. Hamilton is also going to be motivated to win this week so they can ensure their home field advantage. The Roughriders have been great this season with a 9-4 record, but they have been an underwhelming 6-7 against the spread. Hamilton is also better at home (4-2) than on the road (3-4).
Hamilton was destroyed by Toronto last week, so they can use a confidence booster heading into the playoffs. Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli threw two picks in the 31-12 loss against Toronto, but has been way better than that this season.
Masoli should be able to have a solid game this week and lead the Tiger-Cats to a win. Hamilton last beat Saskatchewan in 2019, when Masoli and Banks led them to a 17-23 victory at home. We can have a similar game to that one and Hamilton can earn their home field advantage for next week’s Eastern Semi-Final.
My Prediction for Roughriders vs. Tiger-Cats
I am going to go with the Tiger-Cats winning this one and covering the spread as well. I also think Under 42 is a solid bet for this game as well. Saskatchewan is resting important players, but they have two solid defensive ends. They can struggle to score on offense, but hold Hamilton to a low scoring total themselves.
Take Hamilton to win this one at home for home field advantage, with Masoli leading them to their 8th win of the season.
