Roma vs. CSKA Sofia Betting Preview – Europa League, October 29, 2020
Roma will be aiming to hold onto the top spot in Group A when CSKA Sofia visits Stadio Olimpico on Thursday, October 29.
The Italian side kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Young Boys last week, while CSKA lost 2-0 to Cluj on Matchday 1.

Roma vs. CSKA Sofia Odds
Roma (1.30) is one of the strongest teams in this year’s Europa League, so I’m not surprised that 10bet views the home side as the clear favorite to pick up all three points on Matchday 2.
As expected, CSKA Sofia (9.75) heads into this clash as the obvious outsider. But given that the Bulgarians have tied four of their last five league games, the draw (6.00) could be worth considering.
Paulo Fonseca’s men showed why they are among the favorites to win the Europa League by securing a comeback win on Matchday 1. Roma went behind early on against Young Boys, but second-half goals from Bruno Peres and Marash Kumbulla earned the Italians an opening-day victory.
The Giallorossi has also been catching the eye in Serie A. After losing their first game of the season, Roma has since gone unbeaten in their last four domestic outings. Victories over Udinese and Benevento were impressive, but it could be argued that the draws with Juventus and AC Milan were even better.
Verona loanee Kumbulla has been a standout performer, although Edin Dzeko has arguably been the star of the show. The veteran striker has netted three goals in his last two Serie A appearances and will be eager to open his European account on Thursday.
CSKA dominated their first Europa League game of the season. The Bulgarians enjoyed 64% possession and recorded 14 shots, yet they failed to make their superiority count. Two second-half goals eventually saw Cluj come away with the win, leaving CSKA with nothing to show for their efforts.
Following a solid second-place finish in the Bulgarian top flight in 2019/20, it’s fair to say that the Reds have failed to pick up where they left off last term. Granted, CSKA has only lost one of their ten league games this season. But a whopping six draws have prevented the club from challenging at the top of the table.
CSKA already sits seven points behind first-place Lokomotiv Plovdiv, so it is going to be difficult for the capital club to improve on last year’s success. A trip to Roma is probably the last thing the team needs right now.
Roma vs. CSKA Sofia Pick
Roma to Win1.30
CSKA has become somewhat of a draw specialist in recent weeks. Of course, the price for the draw is hugely attractive here. But I simply can’t make a case for the Bulgarians upsetting the odds on Thursday.
At the end of the day, CSKA can’t seem to find a way to win games at the moment, so I can see Roma cruising to a comfortable victory when the Reds come to town.
