It’s obvious that DAMWON Gaming is one of the teams that will reach the knockouts from Group B of the LoL Worlds Main Event 2020. The second spot in the next stage might be decided on Friday too when Rogue faces JD Gaming.

The Chinese team already beat the same opponent and another victory in the upcoming encounter would open a huge gap.

The first two matches of Rogue brought hope that the team can progress to the knockouts. It all started with a comfortable win over PSG Talon and the Europeans even pushed DAMWON Gaming to the limit in the second round.

That’s when JD Gaming gave them a harsh reality check. Rogue was put under severe pressure and couldn’t find an answer to the opponent’s aggression. That opened plenty of space and the game was over before you know it.

Rogue has to react in the second game and look for pickups of their own. If the squad is playing reactively once again, the results will likely be the same as in the first clash.

The expectations before the start of the LoL Worlds Main Event were high for JD Gaming and the humiliating defeat in the opener against DAMWON certainly hurt the squad’s pride. It was a one-sided match that put the Koreans in control of the group.

Some even thought that JD Gaming might be out after the first stage, but two wins versus PSG Talon and Rogue changed that perception. The Chinese squad is still a force to be reckoned with and the first game against the Europeans was an excellent example of that.

JD Gaming applied relentless aggression that looked wild at times but eventually led to a huge lead and several important objectives. I expect something similar by the Chinese side in game two and I’m not sure that Rogue can do anything about it.

The only chance Rogue has would be to respond to the opponent’s aggression with a proactive hunt for kills of its own. I don’t think it will work and JD is still the favorite, but the game might turn into a massacre.

Under such circumstances, the price of -125 for us to see more than 25.5 kills looks like an excellent betting pick.
