Get it in the diary, as it should be a good one.

I’ll be looking at the odds for Robert Whittaker vs. Kelvin Gastelum in the main event, as well as the top bets to place on this fight.

But that’s not all. I’ll also be revealing my prediction for Whittaker vs. Gastelum, as well as everything else you should know about this crucial scrap. As the winner of Whittaker vs. Gastelum could fight Israel Adesanya for the summer title, it could be a war.

Below you will find odds, top bets, and my predictions and pick for Whittaker vs. Gastelum.

Strap in, and we’ll get going!

Who Wins – Whittaker or Gastelum?

  • Robert Whittaker by Decision

It didn’t take long for me to land on my betting pick for Whittaker vs. Gastelum.

There wasn’t a great deal of toing and froing involved in predicting a win for Whittaker at UFC Fight Night this Saturday, April 17.

As I explain below, this fight could end up being very one-sided. I believe “Bobby Knuckles” will solidify his claim to the #1 contender spot in the middleweight division, so keep reading for my view on that.

But first, let’s see those odds.

Latest Odds for Whittaker vs. Gastelum

Robert Whittaker to Win-260
Kelvin Gastelum to Win+200

If you’re looking for the best online odds for Whittaker vs. Gastelum, Bovada is on the ball.

For anyone gambling real money on Whittaker to win, his price will not get any better than it is right now. I can see the Aussie closing at well over the -300 mark, which makes any price under this threshold very solid.

Whittaker is the favorite to win this fight, and rightly so.

As for Gastelum’s odds to beat Whittaker? Well, they might tempt a certain type of bettor looking for a big payday. But not me.

I don’t think the value is with Gastelum at all. At 2-3 and with some concerning performances over the past few years, I’ll pass. Some might disagree, but to say I don’t fancy his chances here is an understatement.

Best Bets for Whittaker vs. Gastelum

  • Whittaker to Win -260
  • Whittaker to Win by Decision (N/A)
  • Fight Over 3.5 Rounds (N/A)

The upside to gambling on Whittaker vs. Gastelum online is the great choice of markets and bets you can find.

The downside is that many of the prop bets for Whittaker vs. Gastelum will not be available until closer to fight night. This means that betting early on the fight restricts your wagers to the moneyline until the props have been released.

At the time of writing, the online props for Whittaker vs. Gastelum are still under lock and key. Still, I’ll leave you with the three top bets for the fight above.

If you are wagering on Whittaker to win, you can get on that right now. For the other two bets, however, I can’t give you the odds. But make sure to check them out once these top online betting sites post them.

Now that you have the odds and best bets for Whittaker vs. Gastelum, it’s time to break this one down a little.

Why Whittaker Beats Gastelum

Robert Whittaker is one of the best middleweights in UFC history.

He is a former 185-pound champion with some huge wins under his belt. Just look at his last six fights — Jacare Souza, Yoel Romero (x2), Israel Adesanya, Darren Till, and Jared Cannonier. Now, consider that he has five wins from those six fights, and you’ll get a decent gauge for just how good this guy is.

Whittaker is 10-1 since moving up to middleweight and 11-1 from his last 12. He is an excellent all-around fighter with an incredible fight IQ and an understanding of distance to envy.

On the other hand, Gastelum recently snapped a three-fight skid with a solid win over Ian Heinisch. I predicted a win for the former title challenger by decision, and he delivered.

As it happens, I also predicted a decision win for Whittaker over Cannonier in his last fight. Both bouts turned out exactly as I imagined.

When betting on UFC fights, you must treat every bout by its own merits. And with this one, I cannot see how Gastelum will get to Whittaker’s chin. He’s not going to outwrestle, outmaneuver, or outpoint “The Reaper,” which basically means he has a puncher’s chance at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. Gastelum.

Against Whittaker, that’s never going to be enough.

My betting pick for Robert Whittaker vs. Kelvin Gastelum is a decision win for Whittaker.
