Picks and Predictions for EPL Games on Thursday, May 19

| May 18, 2022 6:38 am PDT

If you’re in the mood for Premier League betting, you’re at the right place. I will now analyze the games scheduled for Thursday, sharing my EPL picks and predictions along the way. The reason I decided to do this preview is that there’s so much at stake for all the teams going onto the pitch on May 19.

As a reminder, the three rescheduled Premier League games are played on Thursday. They were supposed to be played weeks (or even months) earlier but were postponed for various reasons. The reason why they’re going to take place mid-week is so that all teams would enter the final round (Sunday) with 37 games played.

Premier League Odds for May 19

  • Everton (1.90), Draw (3.55), Crystal Palace (4.25)
  • Aston Villa (2.05), Draw (3.50), Burnley (3.70)
  • Chelsea (1.39), Draw (4.80), Leicester City (8.75)

If you’d like to bet on the rescheduled Premier League games this Thursday, my recommendation is to do it at 10Bet Sportsbook. Why? Because this online bookmaker is giving fantastic prices on all outcomes.

As you can see in the list above, Chelsea is the biggest favorite, but even the odds on the Blues are decent. When it comes to the other two games, the odds are awesome whichever bet you choose. So, which bets should you go with? That’s the question I’ll try to answer in the next section.

EPL Predictions for Thursday’s games

Before revealing my Premier League predictions for Thursday, let me remind you why these three games are super-important. Depending on the outcomes, we could see some big changes in the Premier League standings.

Although none of these games can have any impact on who’s going to win the Premier League title, they all are very important for the teams involved. For instance, if Everton wins on Thursday, the Toffees will secure a stay in the Prem for another season.

It’s a similar story when it comes to Burnley – the Clarets need a win to get themselves out of the relegation zone.

Finally, Chelsea has a chance to secure the #3 position in the Premier League standings with a win over Leicester City. At the same, the Foxes would get themselves up one place in the table with a win at Stamford Bridge.

Everton vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Everton is one of only six English teams that have never been relegated out of the Premier League. However, there’s danger that might happen this season. Although the Toffees are currently above the relegation zone, there’s still a risk they could drop down.

The thing is that they’re playing against favored Arsenal in the final round of the Premier League, while the two teams behind them – Leeds and Burnley – have easier tasks on their hands.

The good news for Everton fans is that they got another game to play before the last EPL round. If they beat Crystal Palace on Thursday, they will collect enough points to stay up – Leeds will not be able to leapfrog them regardless of what happens in Round 38.

Truth be told, Everton could’ve finished the job earlier. They had a fantastic opportunity to do so last Sunday when they had a 2-0 lead against Brentford. However, everything fell apart for them later in that game with two players getting sent off and one scoring an own goal. As a result, their opponents were able to turn the game around, winning 3-1 in the end.

The same must not happen again – Frank Lampard’s boys need to win all three points this Thursday!

Aston Villa v. Burnley Prediction

Burnley is in the relegation zone at the moment, but top soccer betting sites think the Clarets can stay up. If you’re wondering why that is the case, it’s because Burnley has just one point fewer than Leeds – the team that’s in the safe zone. That’s not all, the Clarets also have one more game to play than Leeds.

The odds of them avoiding relegation are as short as 1.44. Meanwhile, the odds of Leeds staying in the Premier League are 2.20.

With a win over Aston Villa on Thursday, this team would make one giant leap toward securing a stay in the Prem. In fact, even a draw at Villa Park would do great for them. It would mean getting to level points with Leeds, which, in turn, would mean overtaking this team’s position due to a better score difference.

Knowing all this, it’s clear that Burnley’s main goal for Thursday’s game is not to lose. Whether it’s a draw or a win, it would work fine for these guys. That’s what you need to keep in mind when making your EPL bets.

Chelsea vs. Leicester City Prediction

Although this game can’t create chaos in the Premier League standings, I still expect it to be exciting. It’s because both teams can relax on Thursday, knowing that whatever happens, it’s not going to be a disaster.

From Chelsea’s point of view, winning the game would mean securing the #3 position. Still, even if the London Blues lose, they won’t drop down. In fact, for such a scenario to happen, they would need to lose to Watford in the final round as well.

When it comes to Leicester City, this team has a chance to move up to the #8 position with a win over Chelsea. If they fail to do so, they will stay in the #9 position, with a chance to move up in the final round.

This, of course, doesn’t mean this is going to be a friendly game. On the contrary, I expect both teams to play very offensively. Considering that both of them have plenty of offensive weapons at their disposal, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of goals at Stamford Bridge.

I have zero doubt that Chelsea will score on Thursday. After all, Thomas Tuchel’s men have done it in each Premier League game played at Stamford Bridge since September. I also think the Foxes will score at least once. Why? Because they got Jamie Vardy who’s been in terrific shape since returning from an injury. In the previous two EPL games, he scored four goals.

Top Premier League Betting Picks for Thursday, May 19

Everton to Beat Crystal Palace1.90
Double Chance Burnley/Draw Against Aston Villa1.83
Chelsea vs. Leicester City Both Teams to Score1.93

I believe these are the best EPL betting picks for the three games on Thursday. These picks all look very sure to win, not to mention that the odds are pretty decent as well.

Another tip I got for you is to put them all together in a parlay (accumulator) bet. In that case, the total odds would be 6.71. I know I’m gonna be putting my money on that and so should you!
