Premier League Predictions and Top Betting Tips for Round 28 (Saturday, March 5)

Round 28 of the Premier League is on the program this weekend. In this betting preview, I will focus on the games scheduled for Saturday, March five. There are seven EPL games happening that day, three of which seem amazing from a bettor’s perspective.
The games in question are the following:
- Leicester City vs. Leeds
- Burnley vs. Chelsea
- Liverpool vs. West Ham
I will now analyze those three matchups in detail, while also providing Premier League predictions for all of Saturday’s games. If this sounds good, let’s start!
Leicester City to Beat Leeds
The big news coming from Leeds is that Marcelo Bielsa is no longer in charge. Considered one of the biggest masterminds in the soccer universe, Bielsa didn’t do much to keep his team safe from relegation. As a result, Leeds directors decided to act – they sacked Bielsa and put Jesse Marsch in charge.
The American coach is facing the Herculean task of putting Leeds back onto the winning track. Actually, even getting a single point would mean a lot for this team, as they’re coming off four straight losses in the Premier League.

Marsch’s first job is to rally his troops and lift the morale in the Leeds locker room. Unfortunately, even if he puts his players in fight mode, those guys probably aren’t going to be able to do much against Leicester. The thing is that the player quality is on the side of the Foxes.
This goes especially for the fact that several of Leeds’ key men are out with an injury. In fact, two of their top three most valuable players will probably miss Saturday’s game – Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford.
Burnley and Chelsea to Draw
Yep, you’ve read it correctly – I don’t think the reigning Champions League champ is going to win against a team from the relegation zone.
Chelsea is third from the top in the Premier League; Burnley is third from the bottom. Nevertheless, I think the Blues from London are going to struggle at Turf Moor. There are several reasons for that, starting with the fact that the atmosphere in the club might not be very good.
The reason? Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich has put the club up for sale amid possible sanctions by the UK Government due to his ties with Vladimir Putin.

Another reason why I think Chelsea will struggle is that its players could be overworked. The thing is that this team’s been fighting on several fronts, with just one of their previous seven games being a Premier League game.
Since early February, Chelsea played in the FA Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Champions League, and Carabao Cup, in addition to the Premier League.
Still not convinced that Chelsea is going to have a hard time on Saturday? If so, you should also know that despite being very low in the Premier League standings, Burnley has been playing relatively decent soccer.
This team won two of their previous four EPL games, losing and drawing one along the way. Before that, we saw the Clarets lose to Liverpool, but it wasn’t a humiliating loss. In fact, Liverpool beat them just 1-0.
Liverpool to Beat West Ham
The fact that Jurgen Klopp’s team has won the past 11 straight games is the main reason behind my betting pick. These guys have been fabulous lately beating some real heavyweights during their recent surge.
Last Sunday, for example, they defeated Chelsea in the final of the Carabao Cup. They did win only after penalties, but to be fair to them, Liverpool was without several key men in that game – Klopp decided to give them a chance to rest.
Winning their first title of the year has certainly given the Reds a massive morale boost. However, their #1 goal for this season remains the Premier League. Two years after winning their first-ever title in the Premier League era (which started in 1992), Klopp’s boys want to do it again.
They definitely have a good chance of pulling it off. Even soccer betting sites seem to think so. 10Bet Sportsbook, for example, is giving 3.75 on Liverpool winning the EPL title this year.
Ahead of the EPL Round 28, they’re sitting in second place. Liverpool has six points fewer than Manchester City, with one game in hand. Plus, the two are yet to meet in the second half of the season. What this all means is that if Liverpool manages to prolong its winning run, the club’s title dream could become a reality.
So, can the Reds add another win this weekend? I sure think so. Sure, they did lose to West Ham once this season. However, they didn’t deserve to lose that game. It happened last November at West Ham’s London stadium when several Liverpool players were struggling with fitness.
Further, lady luck was pretty much on West Ham’s side. For instance, Liverpool’s goalie Alisson scored an own goal, while its forwards failed to turn a number of their chances into goals. In fact, Liverpool had 16 goal attempts in that game; West Ham had only seven. Further, Liverpool players had the ball in their possession for more than two-thirds of the time.
Betting Tips for the Other EPL Games on Saturday
- Aston Villa and Southampton to Draw
- Newcastle and Brighton to Draw
- Brentford to Beat Norwich
- Wolves to Beat Crystal Palace
Aston Villa and Southampton are similar teams in many aspects, including the fact that both have been playing well lately. With that being said, I think we could see a draw in this game. I also think a draw will happen in the game between Newcastle and Brighton for basically the same reason.
My prediction for the Brentford vs. Norwich game is a win for the away team. The reason? The Bees just have better players. The same explanation is behind my decision to go for Wolves against Crystal Palace.
Still, keep in mind that these are not my top EPL betting picks. If you would like to see my best bets, you ought to check out the section below.
