Predictions and Best Bets for Premier League Games on Sunday, October 3rd

There are four Premier League games on the program on Sunday, October 3, and they all seem super-exciting.
Obviously, the most interesting game is between Liverpool and Manchester City; the teams that won the Premier League in the previous two seasons. It’s the biggest game of Round 7, which is why I just have to preview it, as well as share my betting pick with you.
I’ll do the same for the clash between Tottenham and Aston Villa, where I see some really interesting bets.
I will also share my predictions for the other two games with you and reveal what I’m planning to put my money on this Sunday.
Liverpool to Beat Manchester City
It may seem strange to bet against the reigning Premier League champ, but I simply have to back Liverpool in this case.
There are several reasons for this, starting with Sunday’s game being played at Anfield. Liverpool’s home stadium is the place where Manchester City has won only two games since the 1980s.
The most recent win happened last season when the Sky Blues won 4-1. Sounds impressive, but there is a caveat – there were no fans in the stands of Anfield in that game.
On Sunday, there’s going to be more than 50,000 of them. Most of them will be cheering for the Reds at the top of their lungs.
Still not convinced the hosts will win this game?
Here’s another fact to convince you – Liverpool’s been in terrific form lately with seven wins and two draws since the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
Furthermore, the Reds have been in insane form when it comes to scoring, with at least three goals in each of their previous six games.
Their most recent game saw them putting away five goals against Porto in the Champions League last Tuesday. The same day, Manchester City lost to PSG 2-0.
Tottenham to Beat Aston Villa
When it comes to scoring in the Premier League, Harry Kane is overdue. The man who was the league’s leading scorer in three of the past six seasons is still without a goal in 2021-22.
This is the worst start of the season for the Tottenham skipper in years, but there’s still time to make up for it.
? After four starts, Harry Kane is currently producing his lowest amount of goals, expected goals (xG), shots and touches in the attacking third since 2015.

The good news for him is that Aston Villa is coming to town. This is a team that Kane just loves to play against – he’s scored seven goals in the nine games against this opponent.
Knowing all this, betting on Kane to score anytime doesn’t seem like a bad idea. The odds on that are somewhere in the ballpark of 2.20 at most online sportsbooks.
If player betting isn’t your cup of tea, my advice is to put your money on Tottenham. The Spurs need to win this game and end their losing streak of three straight Premier League losses.
They are the better team, especially now that some of Aston Villa’s key men are struggling with fitness. Leon Bailey is definitely out, while Ollie Watkins, Trezeguet, and a few others are still not 100% fit.
The Villans did beat Manchester United without those guys in the team, but I doubt they can pull off something similar again.
Other Premier League Bets for Sunday, October 3
- Leicester City to Beat Crystal Palace
- West Ham to Beat Brentford
It’s time for Leicester City to get back on the winning track in the Premier League. The last time they won a game in the Prem was on August 28. That’s when they beat Norwich, the worst team in the league.
It’s also time for Brentford to start losing to big Premier League teams. This season, the newcomers won against Arsenal and Wolves.
Brentford also got a draw against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Liverpool. They should get no points from their trip to Olympic Stadium.
My Top Picks for Sunday’s Premier League Games
Liverpool is the bet with the best odds, which is why I think you shouldn’t sleep on it. I surely won’t.
Tottenham comes with not as attractive odds, but this pick is sure to win, in my opinion. If you’re looking for even more certain bets, betting that Leicester City is not going to lose seems like the best option.
Finally, in the game between West Ham and Brentford, I think we’ll see plenty of goals. Why? Because West Ham is the team whose games have seen the most goals this season – 3.5 goals on average per game.
That said, I’m confident we’ll see at least two goals at London’s Olympic Stadium. If you don’t like that bet, a good alternative is to back the Hammers to win at 1.80.
