Predictions, Betting Tips, and Picks for A-League Games on Saturday, March 26, 2022

There are four A-League games to bet on this Saturday, March 26. The top four sides – Melbourne City, Western United, Adelaide United, and Macarthur FC – are all in action, alongside the bottom two teams – Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar.
Here is Saturday’s A-League schedule in full.
- Wellington Phoenix vs. Perth Glory
- Brisbane Roar vs. Western United
- Macarthur FC vs. Melbourne City
- Central Coast Mariners vs. Adelaide United
Join me as I go over my A-League predictions for Saturday. I will also be sharing my recommended A-League betting picks a little later, so make sure you stick around for those.
Let’s get the ball rolling with my Wellington Phoenix vs. Perth Glory prediction.
Wellington Phoenix to Beat Perth Glory
Perth remains rock bottom of the A-League ladder after suffering a 4-1 thrashing against Brisbane last time out. As a result, the Western Australians find themselves four points adrift of the Roar.
Although the Nix have lost each of their past two outings, they enjoyed an impressive seven-game unbeaten streak between late January and early March. That means they have suffered only two defeats in their previous nine A-League games.
Ultimately, this clash provides Wellington with the perfect opportunity to return to winning ways. I expect the New Zealanders to dispatch lowly Perth without any real problems.
Western United to Beat Brisbane Roar
It’s fair to say that Western United is enjoying an excellent campaign. Indeed, John Aloisi’s boys have lost just four of their 18 A-League matches – picking up ten wins and four draws along the way.
Thanks to a run of one defeat in 11 games, they sit three points behind first-place Melbourne City with two games in hand. They also find themselves six points clear of third-place Adelaide United
By contrast, Brisbane is in a world of trouble. Having lost four of their last six matches, the Queenslanders are second from bottom in the A-League standings – 17 points behind first-place Western United.
You probably won’t be surprised to learn that I’m backing Western to see off the Roar on Saturday.
Melbourne City to Beat Macarthur FC
Melbourne City heads into Saturday’s clash against Macarthur FC on a relentless eight-game unbeaten streak. The defending champions have claimed five wins and three draws since losing to Adelaide almost six weeks ago.
Jamie Maclaren (12 goals, 2 assists), Mathew Leckie (6 goals, 3 assists), Andrew Nabbout (4 goals, 5 assists), Florin Berenguer (5 goals, 3 assists), and Marco Tilio (2 goals, 6 assists) have all racked up 8+ goal involvements this season.
Thanks to the exploits of City’s fab five, the reigning champs are the A-League’s top scorers. They have netted 41 goals in 20 games, meaning they average just over two goals per game.
Given that City clinched a comfortable 3-1 victory over Macarthur earlier this month, I’m confident that Kisnorbo’s side will pick up another win this weekend.
Central Coast Mariners and Adelaide United to Draw
The Mariners have turned the corner. Following a winless run of two draws and five losses, Central Coast is now enjoying a four-game unbeaten streak.
Nick Montgomery’s boys kicked off their hot streak with a win over Brisbane. After drawing with Melbourne Victory and Perth, the Coasties crushed Macarthur 4-2 last weekend – with Marco Urena bagging a brace.
Still, there is no hiding from the fact that third-place Adelaide leads eighth-place Central Coast by nine points. The South Australians could struggle to claim all three points in Gosford but should be able to avoid defeat.
Best A-League Bets for Saturday, March 26
I hope you enjoyed Saturday’s A-League predictions. Before I sign off, allow me to share my recommended betting picks with you. In my eyes, these are the best A-League bets for Saturday, March 26.
- Wellington Phoenix vs. Perth Glory – Wellington Phoenix to Win (2.30)
- Brisbane Roar vs. Western United – Under 2.5 Goals (1.80)
- Macarthur FC vs. Melbourne City – Melbourne City (-1) (4.00)
- Central Coast Mariners vs. Adelaide United – Both Teams to Score (1.60)
Given that Perth has lost five of the past seven games, the price for the Wellington win is too tasty to ignore. Let’s not forget that Garcia’s men are the lowest scorers in the A-League.
This season, only 39% of Western’s games have produced more than two goals. Aloisi’s boys boast the best defensive record, but they also struggle to score. That’s why I’m going with the under 2.5 goals wager for Western’s trip to Brisbane.
Finally, I’m backing both teams to score when Central Coast hosts Adelaide. It is difficult to predict the result of this matchup, so the BTTS wager is the way to go here.
