Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans Betting – NFL Week 7, 2020

Two undefeated teams take on each other in Week 7 of the 2020 NFL season, as the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on Sunday, October 25.

This AFC showdown is undoubtedly a headline of the upcoming weekend, bringing plenty of excitement to the sports bettors and football fans, so here’s my best Steelers vs. Titans betting pick along with all must-read betting tips and trends.

The Steelers opened as slight 1.5-point favorites, but keep tracking the odds on some of the top online sportsbooks. In the next few days, the bookies could make a few changes depending on the bettors’ action.

I’m a bit surprised to see the visitors as favorites. The Titans are still the reigning vice-champions of the American Football Conference.

The Steelers destroyed the Cleveland Browns 38-7 last weekend, improving to 5-0 on the season and staying atop of the AFC North. It was a brilliant performance by Pittsburgh’s defensive unit that tortured the Browns all day long.

Sixburgh picked off Baker Mayfield on his first drive. Minkah Fitzpatrick returned for a touchdown to make it 9-0 and the Steelers never looked back. They tallied four sacks and surrendered a paltry 220 total yards.

On the other side of the ball, the Steelers racked up only 277 total yards, but that was all they needed against the terrible Browns’ defense. James Conner had 20 totes for 101 yards and a TD, while Ben Roethlisberger tossed for 162 yards and one TD.

The Steelers are second in the NFL in points allowed (18.8), rushing yards (66.2), and total yards per game (285.2). They lead the league with 24 sacks, but the Steelers’ depth will be tested by injuries, as they lost Devin Bush and Mike Hilton last Sunday.

On the other side of the ball, Pittsburgh is averaging 31.2 points per game (5^th in the NFL) while posting 136.8 rushing yards per contest (8^th).

After dismantling the Buffalo Bills 42-16 in Week 5, the Titans barely outlasted the Houston Texans 42-36 in overtime this past Sunday. As well as their next rivals, the Titans are 5-0 and sitting atop of their division.

Tennessee racked up a whopping 601 total yards against the Texans, becoming the 17^th team with 600-plus yards in this century. Derrick Henry had 22 carries for 212 yards and a pair of scores including the winning five-yard run, while Ryan Tannehill threw for 364 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.

After the first six weeks, the Titans have the second-highest scoring offense in football, tallying 32.8 points per contest.

However, the Titans’ defense allowed 412 total yards to the Texans who went 4-for-4 in the red zone, so Mike Vrabel cannot be pleased. Tennessee is yielding 25.2 points per game (15^th) on 409.8 total yards (27^th).

I think this game will be decided by three or fewer points, but it can easily go either way.

The Steelers are certainly a better defensive team than Tennessee, and I really admire their defensive unit. However, the Titans’ offense is so dangerous with Ryan Tannehill playing at the highest level, while Derrick Henry is the best RB in football, period, so I have to take the Titans as 3.5-point dogs.

Pittsburgh will miss a few important players on the defensive end. The Steelers are still terrific against rushing, but slowing down Henry will be a very difficult task.

These two conference foes haven’t met since 2017 when the Steelers beat the Titans 40-17 at home. Still, Tennessee is 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS in its previous four matchups with Pittsburgh.
