We have no fewer than 12 USL Championship games to bet on this Saturday, July 23. So, it’s about time that I shared my USL Championship predictions and picks, don’t you think?

Before we go any further, we need to check out Saturday’s monster USLC schedule.

  • Hartford Athletic vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds
  • Indy Eleven vs. Memphis 901
  • Loudoun United vs. Miami FC
  • Birmingham Legion vs. FC Tulsa
  • Detroit City vs. New Mexico United
  • Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. Atlanta United 2
  • El Paso Locomotive vs. San Antonio
  • San Diego Loyal vs. RGV Toros
  • Oakland Roots vs. Las Vegas Lights
  • Monterey Bay vs. New York Red Bulls II
  • LA Galaxy II vs. Orange County
  • Phoenix Rising vs. Sacramento Republic

As you can see, there are plenty of standout clashes to look forward to this weekend. The all-Texas showdown between El Paso and San Antonio is destined to be a thriller, but that is merely the beginning.

Let’s dive into my USL Championship predictions for Saturday, July 23.

USL Championship Predictions for Saturday, July 23, 2022

You can find my recommended USL Championship picks for Saturday at the end of this piece. First, let’s go over Saturday’s USL Championship predictions.

Tampa Bay Rowdies to Beat Atlanta United 2

A whopping 24 points separate Tampa Bay and Atlanta United 2 in the Eastern Conference. The Rowdies find themselves second, while the Georgians sit third from bottom in the standings.

The Rowdies head into Saturday’s clash on a ten-game unbeaten run. Thanks to big victories over Pittsburgh (5-2), Memphis (2-0), Hartford (3-2), and Loudoun (4-1), they are also on a four-game winning streak.

By contrast, Jack Collison’s boys are on a four-game winless run. When you look at the bigger picture, they have only managed to win two of their previous 16 outings – registering three draws and 11 defeats in the process.

You shouldn’t be shocked that I’m backing Tampa Bay to claim all three points on Saturday.

San Antonio to Beat El Paso Locomotive

There is no denying that San Antonio has been the best team in the Western Conference this season. In fact, it could be argued that San Antonio has been the best team in the entire USLC.

Alen Marcina’s boys have won 14 of their 18 games this year, conceding a measly 14 goals along the way. With seven victories coming in their previous nine encounters, they find themselves four points clear atop the West.

Meanwhile, El Paso sits fifth – ten points behind San Antonio. Although John Hutchinson’s men are enjoying a solid campaign, they are nowhere near the level of their Texas rivals.

It is worth noting that El Paso has conceded exactly twice as many goals as San Antonio in 2022. I expect El Paso to give Marcina’s boys a run for their money this weekend, but I’m confident that San Antonio will come out on top.

San Diego Loyal to Beat RGV Toros

San Diego Loyal heads into Saturday’s clash against Rio Grande Valley on a run of four wins in five games, having dispatched Indy Eleven (5-0), Orange County (2-1), and Colorado Springs (3-2, 3-0).

Thanks to those high-scoring victories, the Californians have now netted more goals than anyone else this season. Landon Donovan’s boys have bagged 44 goals in 20 outings, meaning they average 2.2 goals per game in 2022.

Rio Grande Valley sits tenth in the West – 13 points behind third-place San Diego – after failing to register a win across the past four rounds. Worse still, the Texans have won just one of their last seven games.

I’m backing Donovan’s boys to secure their sixth victory in eight games this weekend.

Remaining USL Championship Predictions

  • Pittsburgh Riverhounds to Beat Hartford Athletic
  • Memphis 901 to Beat Indy Eleven
  • Loudoun United and Miami FC to Draw
  • Birmingham Legion to Beat FC Tulsa
  • Detroit City and New Mexico United to Draw
  • Las Vegas Lights to Beat Oakland Roots
  • Monterey Bay to Beat New York Red Bulls II
  • LA Galaxy II to Beat Orange County
  • Phoenix Rising and Sacramento Republic to Draw

I expect Birmingham, New York Red Bulls II, and LA Galaxy II to claim home wins on Saturday. Elsewhere, I’m confident that Pittsburgh, Memphis, and Las Vegas will triumph on their travels.

There should be a few draws, too. I can see Loudoun United vs. Miami FC, Detroit City vs. New Mexico United, and Phoenix Rising vs. Sacramento Republic ending all square this weekend.

Top USL Championship Picks for Saturday, July 23, 2022

I have scoured the best soccer betting sites to find the top USL Championship picks for Saturday, July 23. After trawling the USL Championship odds, I’m confident that my picks can land us a tasty profit.

  • Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. Atlanta United 2 – Over 3.5 Goals (+110)
  • El Paso Locomotive vs. San Antonio – San Antonio to Win (+130)
  • San Diego Loyal vs. RGV Toros – San Diego Loyal to Win (-125)
  • LA Galaxy II vs. Orange County – Both Teams to Score (-143)

I’m more than happy to back San Antonio and San Diego to win at +130 and -125, respectively. San Antonio is on a roll right now, while San Diego shouldn’t struggle to dispatch the Toros on home soil.

This year, games involving Atlanta United 2 average 3.8 goals. Since the Rowdies have scored 41 goals in 20 outings this season, I expect them to combine with the Georgians for at least four goals.

Both teams have scored in 15 of Orange County’s 20 USLC games in 2022. For that reason, I recommend opting for the BTTS wager when Orange County visits LA Galaxy II.
