Are you ready for MORE USL Championship predictions and picks?

The USLC action is coming thick and fast at the moment. I have already published my USL Championship predictions and picks for Friday, July 15, but we have another nine games to get our teeth into on Saturday, July 16.

Here is Saturday’s USLC schedule in full.

  • Loudoun United vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies
  • Charleston Battery vs. Hartford Athletic
  • Orange County vs. Miami FC
  • Memphis 901 vs. Louisville City
  • New Mexico United vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds
  • San Antonio vs. Atlanta United 2
  • Oakland Roots vs. El Paso Locomotive
  • Monterey Bay vs. Detroit City
  • Sacramento Republic vs. Birmingham Legion

As you can see, there are plenty of exciting matchups on the horizon. However, the top-two showdown between Memphis 901 and Louisville City in the Eastern Conference is undoubtedly the standout clash here.

Without further ado, let’s dive into my USL Championship predictions for Saturday, July 16. I will also be going over Saturday’s top USL Championship picks at the end.

USL Championship Predictions for Saturday, July 16

Below, I cover three standout clashes before providing the remainder of my USL Championship predictions for Saturday, July 16. Let’s kick things off with my Loudoun United vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies prediction.

Tampa Bay Rowdies to Beat Loudoun United

The Rowdies head into Saturday’s clash on a nine-game unbeaten streak, having claimed seven wins and two draws since their last loss. Consequently, they sit third in the Eastern Conference – three points behind first-place Louisville City.

Thanks to recent high-scoring victories over Phoenix Rising (5-1), Pittsburgh Riverhounds (3-1, 5-2), and Hartford Athletic (3-2), the Rowdies are now the second-highest scorers in the East.

By contrast, only last-place New York Red Bulls II has netted fewer goals than Loudoun this year. As a result, the Virginians find themselves down in eleventh place – 21 points shy of Tampa Bay.

Ryan Martin’s men have only managed to win two of their previous 15 games, registering three draws and ten defeats in the process. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that I’m backing the Rowdies to win this one.

San Antonio to Beat Atlanta United 2

Having secured 13 wins in 17 games this season, San Antonio sits four points clear atop the Western Conference. Believe it or not, the Texans have FOUR games in hand over some of their rivals.

Not only have Alen Marcina’s men won each of their last three USLC outings, but they have also won six of their previous eight. Better still, they boast the joint-best defensive record in the entire Championship.

On the flip side, Atlanta United 2 has managed to pick up just four wins in 20 games this year. With two wins coming in their past 15 encounters, the Georgians find themselves 25 points behind San Antonio in the overall standings.

To make matters worse, Jack Collison’s boys have conceded more goals than anyone else in 2022. They average 2.45 goals against per game this year, so San Antonio shouldn’t struggle to claim all three points on Saturday.

Detroit City to Beat Monterey Bay

It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Monterey Bay is enduring a difficult debut season in the USLC. Indeed, the newcomers sit rock bottom of the Western Conference after losing 11 of their 17 games.

Granted, the Californians ended a five-game winless run with a rare 2-0 victory over Orange County last time out. But they still find themselves 13 points shy of the all-important playoff places in the West.

In addition to being 13 points outside the top seven in the West, Monterey Bay is 17 points behind Detroit City in the overall standings. That’s because Detroit has registered just four losses in 19 games this season.

Trevor James’ boys have only lost two of their previous ten outings, picking up four wins and four draws along the way. Needless to say, that is not good news for struggling Monterey Bay.

More USL Championship Predictions for Saturday, July 16

Here are the rest of my USL Championship predictions for Saturday.

  • Charleston Battery and Hartford Athletic to Draw
  • Miami FC to Beat Orange County
  • Memphis 901 and Louisville City to Draw
  • New Mexico United to Beat Pittsburgh Riverhounds
  • El Paso Locomotive to Beat Oakland Roots
  • Sacramento Republic to Beat Birmingham Legion

I’m backing Miami FC and El Paso Locomotive to win on the road this weekend. Elsewhere, I expect New Mexico United and Sacramento republic to claim all three points on home soil.

I can see both Charleston Battery vs. Hartford Athletic and Memphis 901 vs. Louisville City ending in a draw. Let’s not forget that second-place Memphis and first-place Louisville are separated by a solitary point in the East!

Best USL Championship Picks for Saturday, July 16

Let’s wrap things up with my top USL Championship picks for Saturday, July 16. If you like the look of my picks, why not head over to the best soccer betting sites to place some wagers?

Orange County vs. Miami FC – Both Teams to Score-135
New Mexico United vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds – New Mexico United to Win-111
San Antonio vs. Atlanta United 2 – San Antonio (-1)+110

In my eyes, the BTTS wager is the best bet for Orange County vs. Miami FC. Why? Because both teams have scored in 15 of Orange County’s 19 games this season. That’s 79%!

New Mexico is on a roll right now. Zach Prince’s men have lost just one of their last 12 games, with seven wins coming in their previous ten outings. They also have the best home defensive record in the West, so I expect them to see off Pittsburgh.

The last of my USL Championship picks concerns San Antonio vs. Atlanta United 2. I’m backing San Antonio to win by at least two clear goals, given that Atlanta United 2 has the worst defensive record in the USLC.
