Picks and Predictions for Serie A Round 35 (April 30 – May 2, 2022)
On Wednesday, Inter Milan blew the chance to leapfrog AC Milan at the top of the Serie A table. The defending champions suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Bologna, meaning they trail their rivals by two points.
With only four rounds remaining this season, it’s crunch time in the Italian top flight. Round 35 gets underway on Saturday, April 30, so it’s time to make some Serie A predictions for this weekend.
Read on to discover my Serie A predictions and picks for Round 35. First, let’s check out the latest Serie A odds.

10Bet views Napoli, Juventus, AC Milan, Roma, and Atalanta as heavy home favorites for Round 35. Cagliari and Sampdoria are also favored to triumph on home soil, but only just.
Elsewhere, Lazio, Torino, and Inter Milan are expected to win on their travels this weekend. Can Inter bounce back from their surprise midweek loss to keep the title race alive?
Predictions for Serie A Round 35
It’s time to get stuck into my Round 35 Serie A predictions. If you like the look of my predictions, why not head over to the top Serie A betting sites to place some wagers?
Napoli to Beat Sassuolo
Last weekend, Napoli’s scudetto hopes took another dent as they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Empoli. Luciano Spalletti’s men have failed to win any of their previous three outings, recording one draw and two losses.
As for Sassuolo, they head into Round 35 on a run of three losses in four games. Following defeats against Lazio, Cagliari, and Juventus, eighth-place Sassuolo remains 21 points behind Napoli.
I’m backing Napoli to return to winning ways this weekend. The visit of struggling Sassuolo provides Spalletti’s side with the ideal opportunity to get back on track.
Juventus to Beat Venezia
Venezia comes into Round 35 on a sorry eight-game losing stretch. Their latest defeat came against Atlanta last weekend, leading to the sacking of head coach Paolo Zanetti.
Unfortunately, it appears to be a case of too little, too late for the Winged Lions. After winning only five of their 33 league matches this season, they find themselves six points from safety with four games remaining.
Max Allegri’s men have been almost unstoppable since November. Even if they are not at their best this weekend, they shouldn’t struggle to overcome lowly Venezia.
AC Milan to Beat Fiorentina
Following Inter’s loss to Bologna in midweek, the scudetto race is in Milan’s hands. The task is simple: win the remaining four games to secure the title.
In contrast, Fiorentina heads into Round 35 on the back of two straight losses. After suffering a shock 2-1 defeat to relegation-threatened Salernitana, La Viola was thrashed 4-0 by Udinese on Wednesday.
I’m confident that Milan will claim all three points when Fiorentina comes to town. The incentive to wrap up the scudetto is too big to turn down.

- Hellas Verona to Beat Cagliari
- Sampdoria to Beat Genoa
- Lazio to Beat Spezia
- Empoli and Torino to Draw
- Inter Milan to Beat Udinese
- Roma to Beat Bologna
- Atalanta and Salernitana to Draw
The rest of my Round 35 Serie A predictions are listed above. As you can see, I expect both Empoli vs. Torino and Atalanta vs. Salernitana to end in a draw. Do not sleep on Salernitana’s late-season surge!
Meanwhile, Sampdoria and Roma should claim home victories this weekend. I’m also backing Hellas Verona, Lazio, and Inter Milan to notch road wins in Round 35.
Best Serie A Picks for Round 35
Cagliari has suffered six defeats across the past seven rounds. On the flip side, Hellas Verona has recorded just two losses in the previous ten rounds. Since Verona leads Cagliari by 21 points, odds of 2.80 for the away win are definitely worth exploring.
I also like the look of AC Milan’s odds to beat Fiorentina. Granted, they are not as juicy as the Verona win. But Milan is on home soil this weekend and looks set to take another step towards the scudetto.
Atalanta is priced at just 1.27 to beat Salernitana, but I’m backing both teams to score. Both teams have scored in 22 of Atalanta’s 34 league games this term, so I can see Salernitana finding the back of the net in Bergamo.
