EPL Predictions for Round 1

Here are my Round 1 Premier League predictions. Below, I cover three standout clashes in detail before sharing the rest of my EPL predictions for Round 1.

Fulham vs. Liverpool Prediction

Last season, Liverpool lost just two of their 38 Premier League games and still finished a solitary point behind Man City. It goes without saying that Jurgen Klopp’s side will be eager to make amends this season.

If the EPL title odds are correct, Liverpool looks set to push Man City all the way once again. With Mohamed Salah leading the way, the Merseysiders stand an excellent chance of securing the silverware.

Early Title Odds and Analysis for the 2022-23 EPL Season

It seems like only yesterday that Manchester City secured that comeback victory over Aston Villa to pip Liverpool to the 2021-22 Premier League title. However, the new season is already on the horizon. Due to the winter World Cup, the 2022-23 Premier League...

Fulham dominated the Championship last term, scoring a colossal 106 goals en route to gaining promotion. Still, Saturday’s visit of Liverpool is destined to be a baptism of fire for Marco Silva’s men.

I’m confident that Liverpool will claim all three points this weekend. Fulham will be brimming with belief upon their return to top-flight action, but I expect the Londoners to be outclassed by the title contenders.

Prediction for Fulham vs. Liverpool: Liverpool to Win

Tottenham vs. Southampton Prediction

Spurs enjoyed a strong end to the previous campaign, losing just one of their final 11 games to secure Champions League soccer. With a full pre-season under Antonio Conte in the bank, Tottenham is expected to hit the ground running in 2022-23.

Son Heung-min claimed the Golden Boot last term, bagging 23 goals and nine assists in 35 games. With Harry Kane also in the running for the award, Spurs could blow Southampton away this weekend.

Odds and Prediction for the 2022-23 Premier League Golden Boot

If the 2022-23 Premier League Golden Boot odds don’t get you excited for the new season, I don’t know what will. Of course, Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, and all the other usual suspects are there. But with high-profile newcomers such as Erling...

The Saints only managed to win nine of their 38 league games last season. After ending the season on a four-game losing run, they finished fifteenth – 31 points behind Tottenham and five points clear of the relegation zone.

Southampton looks set to endure another difficult campaign. For that reason, I’m backing Spurs to kick off their season with a comfortable victory on home soil.

Prediction for Tottenham vs. Southampton: Tottenham to Win

West Ham vs. Manchester City Prediction

Pep Guardiola’s boys clinched their fourth EPL title in five years last season. Granted, they edged out Liverpool by a single point on the final day. But few would argue that Man City didn’t deserve to secure the silverware.

The champions will be even stronger in 2022-23, following Erling Haaland’s arrival. After netting 85 goals in 88 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, Haaland comes into his debut EPL campaign as the bookies’ Player of the Year favorite.

Odds to Win the 2022-23 EPL Player of the Year

The 2022-23 English Premier League season is upon us. Following weeks of waiting, the world’s most popular soccer league is almost ready to return. Prior to the start of every campaign, the best Premier League betting sites offer a wide variety of...

West Ham heads into 2022-23 on the back of another successful season, having sealed back-to-back top-seven finishes last term. Let’s not forget that David Moyes’ men also reached the Europa League semi-finals.

Even so, the Hammers are nowhere near the level of Man City. For that reason, I’m confident that Guardiola’s boys will begin the new campaign with a win.

Prediction for West Ham vs. Manchester City: Manchester City to Win

More EPL Predictions for Round 1

Here are the remainder of my Round 1 Premier League predictions.

  • Arsenal to Beat Crystal Palace
  • Aston Villa to Beat Bournemouth
  • Leeds and Wolves to Draw
  • Newcastle to Beat Nottingham Forest
  • Chelsea to Beat Everton
  • Leicester and Brentford to Draw
  • Manchester United to Beat Brighton

I’m backing Newcastle and Man Utd to win on home soil this weekend. Elsewhere, I expect Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Chelsea to win on the road. I can also see both Leeds vs. Wolves and Leicester vs. Brentford ending in a draw.

Best Premier League Picks for Round 1

This piece would not be complete without a look at the top Premier League picks for Round 1. If you like the look of my EPL picks, be sure to head over to the best Premier League betting sites to place your wagers.

Fulham vs. Liverpool – Liverpool (-1)1.80
Bournemouth vs. Aston Villa – Aston Villa to Win2.05
Tottenham vs. Southampton – Tottenham (-1)1.95
Newcastle vs. Nottingham Forest – Newcastle to Win1.66

I’m backing Aston Villa and Newcastle to kick off their campaigns with victories over newly-promoted teams. Villa visits Bournemouth on Saturday, while Newcastle hosts Nottingham Forest.

I recommend utilizing the handicap markets for Fulham vs. Liverpool and Tottenham vs. Southampton. I’m confident that both Liverpool and Spurs will win by at least two clear goals.

Liverpool is priced at just 1.28 to beat Fulham, but you can get odds of 1.80 with the -1 handicap. The same handicap takes Tottenham’s odds from 1.35 to 1.95, so it’s certainly worth taking advantage of.
