The Philadelphia Eagles have just returned from a long trip to California, but they will travel to Pittsburgh in a good mood. The Eagles recorded their first win of the season in Week 4, so pressure at Heinz Field won’t be as huge as it was at Levi’s Stadium this past Sunday.

On the other side, the Pittsburgh Steelers were on a bye last weekend, as their clash against Tennessee was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak among the Titans.

Mike Tomlin’s boys enter Week 5 undefeated and will look to keep it that way, so here’s the best Eagles vs. Steelers betting pick for Sunday, October 11.

Eagles vs. Steelers Odds

Eagles +7.0 -110
Steelers -7.0 -110
Eagles to Win +275
Steelers to Win -330
Over 45.0 -110
Under 45.0 -110

According to, the Steelers are 7-point favorites with a total of 45.0 points. The bookies don’t expect to see a bunch of points, and neither do I, considering the Steelers’ stout defense and the Eagles’ powerless offense.

Philadelphia Eagles Team Analysis

The Eagles improved to 1-2-1 on the season following a surprising 25-20 victory at the San Francisco 49ers this past Sunday. They took advantage of Nick Mullens’ horrible performance, picking off the Niners’ quarterback twice and scoring a pick-six in the fourth quarter that decided the winner.

Now, the Eagles are topping the NL East. Yes, that’s right. The 1-2-1 Eagles are the best team in the worst NFL division ever. It’s embarrassing how poor the NL East is in 2020.

Just look at the Eagles’ stats. They are scoring 21.0 points per game (26th in the NFL) on 319.0 total yards (28th), surrendering 26.8 in a return (19th) on 352.3 total yards (10th).

Still, I have to mention that Philadelphia is having enormous injury problems. The Eagles are without four wideouts, while their offensive line misses four out of five starters. Phila’s defense has been hit by the injury bug, too, so it’s safe to say that the Eagles are actually doing a great job.

Pittsburgh Steelers Team Analysis

The Steelers are cruising through the 2020 NFL season, though their schedule has been pretty easy thus far. After a 26-16 road victory over the Giants in the opener, the Steelers recorded a pair of home wins, outlasting the Broncos 26-21 and Texans 28-21.

Ben Roethlisberger has returned from elbow surgery, and his presence under center is essential for the Steelers. Although Pittsburgh’s receiving corps is not exactly full of talented players, Big Ben makes everybody around him much better, so the Steelers are racking up 382.0 total yards per game (14th in the NFL).

On the other side of the ball, the Steelers are still building up their form. They allow 19.3 points per game (4th) on just 290.0 total yards (2nd). Also, the Steelers’ run D is the best in football, yielding only 54.0 yards per contest.

Eagles vs. Steelers Pick

I’m not going to overthink this one at all. First, I watched the Eagles on Sunday, and they just defeated another beaten-up team, as the Niners have some huge injury problems, too. Philadelphia’s offense lacks creativity, and the Eagles will struggle mightily against the Steelers’ D.

Second, the Eagles beat the 49ers only because of Nick Mullens’ stupid mistake. Big Ben is going to torture them all day long, so I’m betting on the Steelers to cover a 7-point spread. I won’t even buy a point, as I always do with a 7-point spread.

Simply, Carson Wentz will fight for his life at Heinz Field, and I just hope he won’t get hurt against the Steelers’ terrifying defensive unit. Also, don’t forget that Pittsburgh had some extra days to recover and prepare for this clash.
