With just four regular-season matches left to play, Richard Garcia’s men have propelled themselves into top-six contention. They now sit eighth on the A-League ladder – level with sixth-place Brisbane on 31 points.

Meanwhile, a five-game unbeaten streak (two wins, three draws) has seen Macarthur cement fifth place in the standings – four points ahead of Perth.

There is no denying that Macarthur has been far more consistent than Perth throughout the campaign. But based on current form, the Glory is the deserved favorite to win this one.

Since returning to Western Australia, Garcia’s side has taken 13 points from a possible 21 and is currently enjoying a run of four straight wins.

That said, no A-League team has picked up more points on their travels than the Bulls this season. They have only lost four of their 11 away matches, so there is value everywhere you look here.

Following a wretched run of just one win in 12 games between March and May, it’s fair to say that Perth looked dead and buried. Everyone had already written off the Glory in the top-six race, and rightfully so!

However, a remarkable four-match winning streak has thrust Garcia’s team back into Finals Series contention.

The Western Australians’ performances have improved drastically in recent weeks. Indeed, they have scored a total of 12 goals across their past four games – conceding just three in the process.

After beating Melbourne Victory and Western United, Perth crushed Western Sydney 5-1.

Bruno Fornaroli has been immense, too, bagging three goals and two assists in his last four appearances. Meanwhile, Chris Oikonomidis has contributed four goals and one assist in his previous five outings.

Fornaroli and Oikonomidis both scored as the Glory secured a dramatic comeback victory over Adelaide on Wednesday. Needless to say, Perth is carrying some serious momentum right now.

The Bulls will be well aware of the task at hand on Sunday, but they will feel they have prepared well for their trip to WA.

Macarthur’s top-six hopes were dented when the team suffered back-to-back defeats last month. However, Ante Milicic’s men have responded in style – stringing together a five-match unbeaten run at just the right time.

Following three consecutive draws, the Bulls clinched two straight wins over Victory.

Having bagged a brace last time out, Derbyshire’s tally now stands at 13 goals and three assists in 22 appearances this term. Given that this is the Englishman’s debut season Down Under, he can be extremely proud of his efforts.

The Bulls can take confidence from their recent results against Perth. In fact, they are unbeaten against the Glory this year – picking up a home win and an away draw.

Still, preventing Perth from winning is not easy at the moment.

Garcia’s men have seriously upped their game of late, destroying everything in their path. That said, securing five straight wins in the A-League is a big ask.

I am confident that Perth will avoid defeat and extend their unbeaten run on Sunday. But considering that Macarthur is also enjoying an impressive unbeaten streak, I can see the Bulls leaving WA with a point.
