Parx Racing Picks – Monday, September 28, 2020

I found plenty to like in today’s richest races at Parx Casino and Racing. Even though the morning line and I were in agreement more often than not, I still found some small but profitable show bets as well as a trifecta that should please our bankrolls.
Read on for my tips and picks for Parx Racing today.
Picks for Parx Racing Race 7
This is an allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $45,000.
I like the fourth-favored (4/1) entry in this race—Hockey Puck, ridden by veteran jockey Mychel Sanchez. This three-year-old gelding moneyed five of his nine career starts, winning four of them. His record in 2020 is even better: Two wins in three starts. He’s on a roll.
The longest odds in this race are 8/1, so this is not much of a value wager, but I do think Jump for Alex, ridden by top jockey Jeremy Laprida, has a shot at finishing in the money. This four-year-old gelding moneyed nine of his 17 career starts, winning four of them. Show bet only.
- Win: Hockey Puck 4/1
- Show: Jump for Alex 8/1
Picks for Parx Racing Race 8
This is an allowance race for three-year-olds running a distance of one mile for a purse of $41,000.
I’m sticking with the 2/1 morning line favorite in this race—Flat Out Beautiful, ridden by top jockey Frankie Pennington. This four-year-old gelding moneyed 13 of his 18 career starts, winning six of them.
There are no long-odds in this race, but I do see a solid trifecta bet here: Flat Out Beautiful, Forest Fire (fourth-favored) ridden by Mychel Sanchez, and Yes It’s Roo (second-favored), with Edwin Rivera aboard.
- Win: Flat Out Beautiful 2/1
- Trifecta: Flat Out Beautiful, Forest Fire, Yes It’s Roo (5-4-1)
Picks for Parx Racing Race 9
This is an allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $41,000.
Not a particularly impressive field in this race, but I’ll stick with the 3/1 morning line favorite—Isabella Smile, with Angel R. Rodriguez aboard. This four-year-old filly moneyed eight of her 11 career starts, winning two.
The longest I’ll go in this race for a show bet is the 10/1 Mini Scoop, ridden by Mychel Sanchez. This four-year-old filly moneyed eight of her 16 starts, winning three of them.
- Win: Isabella Smile 3/1
- Show: Mini Scoop 10/1
