Parx Racing Picks – Wednesday, October 7, 2020

Thoroughbred competition continues today at Parx Racing in Bensalem, Pennsylvania with a ten-race card of mostly maiden and claiming races.
Parx Racing permits spectators, who can expect mostly cloudy skies but little chance of precipitation, highs in the upper 60s, and winds around 11 mph.
Remember that you can find Parx Racing’s entire ten-race card for Wednesday at one of our recommended horse racing betting sites.
Let’s get right to my tips and betting picks for Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Parx Racing.
Picks for Parx Racing Race 2
This is a maiden special weight race for Pennsylvania-bred two-year-olds running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $34,000.
Only one-half of the coupled entries that the morning line likes is worth a win ticket–if Frankie Pennington rides Just a Thought, bet him to win. If not, then I like the third-favored (9/2) Memory Bouquet, with Ruben Silvera aboard. For the record: Just a Thought has some impressive workout times, but so does Memory Bouquet.
I don’t see any bargain show bets among the longer-odds entries here, so let’s save our money for later.
- Win: Just a Thought 8/5
- Win: Memory Bouquet 9/2
Pick for Parx Racing Race 4
This is a maiden special weight race for Pennsylvania-bred fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of 6-1/2 furlongs for a purse of $34,000.
I’m backing the 2/1 morning line favorite in this race—Jumpintoaction, ridden by veteran jockey Mychel Sanchez. This three-year-old filly moneyed four of her seven career starts.
And as far as long-odds bargain bets are concerned, this race has none of those. Let’s move on.
- Win: Jumpintoaction 2/1
Pick for Parx Racing Race 8
This is a maiden special weight race for two-year-olds running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $40,000.
I’m sticking with the 6/5 morning line favorite here—Democratic Norms, with Frankie Pennington in the irons. This colt placed second in his single career start, which makes him the frontrunner among his competition in this field.
Not unusual for maiden races, but I don’t see any long-odds entries here that could be relied upon to finish in the money.
- Win: Democratic Norms 6/5
