Parx Racing Picks – Tuesday, October 27, 2020
Parx Racing in Bensalem, Pennsylvania schedules eleven allowance, maiden, and claiming races for our entertainment and wagering pleasure today. If you intend to visit Parx Racing today (they allow spectators, you know) then expect partly cloudy skies, temps in the low 60s, and mild winds around seven mph.
Read on for my Parx Racing picks and betting tips for Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
Pick for Parx Racing Race 5
This is a maiden special weight race for two-year-old fillies running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $40,000.
I’m going with the second-favored (4/1) entry in this race—B B’s Rocket, with top jockey Frank Pennington aboard. Like most entries in this race, this two-year-old has no starts on record, but the filly has shown good times in recent workouts.
I don’t see any of the longer-odds entries showing any sign that they might be inclined to earn a paycheck today.
- Win: B B’s Rocket 4/1
Picks for Parx Racing Race 9
This is an allowance optional claiming race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $45,000.
If Frankie Pennington (or anyone else, for that matter) rides the 8/5 Name Changer (the first half of the 1/1A coupled entry), then bet him to win. This seven-year-old moneyed 16 of his 22 career starts, winning eight of them. Don’t bother with the second half of that coupled entry, Compound It, who’s an also-ran waiting to happen.
If Name Changer is scratched, then buy a win ticket for the third-favored (7/2) entry, Debbie’s Passion, ridden by Jeremy Laprida. This four-year-old colt moneyed four of his eight career starts, winning three of them.
At 10/1, I like Midnightcharly, piloted by Mychel Sanchez. This five-year-old gelding moneyed 14 of his 18 career starts, winning six.
- Win: Name Changer 8/5 (if starts)
- Win: Debbie’s Passion 7/2 (otherwise)
- Show: Midnightcharly 10/1
Picks for Parx Racing Race 10
This is a starter allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of 6-1/2 furlongs for a purse of $22,000.
I’m backing the third-favored (9/2) entry here—Factor This In, with Frankie Pennington aboard. This six-year-old gelding moneyed 16 of his 32 career starts, winning eight.
For a value show ticket, I like the 10/1 Fran’s Worrier, with Gerardo Milan in the irons. This four-year-old gelding finished in the money 12 of his 19 starts, winning four of them.
- Win: Factor This In 9/2
- Show: Fran’s Worrier 10/1
