Parx Racing Picks – Tuesday, October 13, 2020
Parx Racing thoroughbred racing continues this week a ten-race card of claiming matches. Don’t forget that Parx permits spectators, so if you decide on a day at the races, expect the weather to be wet, with scattered showers throughout the area, temps in the mid-60s, and winds around nine mph.
Also remember that you can find Parx Racing’s entire ten-race card for Tuesday at one of our recommended online racebooks.
Now, read on for my Parx Racing picks and betting tips for Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
Pick for Parx Racing Race 7
This is a claiming race for three-year-olds and upwards running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $21,000.
I agree with the morning line in this race, so my money’s on the 9/5 favorite—Ashraq, with Mychel Sanchez in the irons. This three-year-old ridgling moneyed two of his six career starts, winning one.
Longest odds in this race are 12/1, and I don’t see that horse finishing for a paycheck.
- Win: Ashraq 9/5
Picks for Parx Racing Race 8
This is a claiming race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $22,000.
I like the third-favored (9/2) entry in this race—Breezy Gust, with Mychel Sanchez aboard. This three-year-old gelding moneyed three of his six career starts, winning two of them.
At 12/1, I like Aspen Xtreme, with Pedro Requena in the irons, for a show ticket. This five-year-old gelding moneyed 13 of his 24 career starts, winning two.
- Win: Breezy Gust 9/2
- Show: Aspen Xtreme 12/1
Picks for Parx Racing Race 9
This is a claiming race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $23,000.
I like the 7/2 underdog Blow the Whistle, with Angel R. Rodriguez aboard. This eight-year-old gelding moneyed 30 of his 44 career starts, winning 17 of them. Sure, he’ll see some competition from the 2/2X coupled entries but Blow the Whistle should easily finish first.
The longest odds in this race are 10/1, and there’s only one of those horses that looks to be capable of finishing in the money—the first half of the 1/1A coupled entries, Salt It Here, ridden by Abel Mariano. This six-year-old moneyed 21 of his 35 career starts, winning six of them.
- Win: Blow the Whistle 7/2
- Show: Salt It Here 10/1
