Parx Racing Picks – Wednesday, November 4, 2020
Parx Racing has ten maiden, claiming, and allowance races scheduled for Wednesday, and the locals who elect to spend a day at the races will find the weather agreeable — sunny, and cool, with a slight chance of rain and winds around nine mph.
Read on for my Parx Racing picks and betting tips for Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
Pick for Parx Racing Race 5
This is a maiden claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs on the main track for a purse of $30,000.
I’m calling this race for the second-favored (3/1) Adhwaa, ridden by veteran jockey Frankie Pennington. This three-year-old filly doesn’t have quite the starting record of the morning line favorite, but she has better speed stats. For the record, Adhwaa finished in the money for two of her seven career starts.
I don’t see any of the longer-odds entries here making it to the finish line in time for payday, so let’s save that money for later.
- Win: Adhwaa 3/1
Pick for Parx Racing Race 8
This is an allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile and 70 yards on the main track for a purse of $41,000.
I’m sticking with the 8/5 morning line favorite here — Rock On Luke, with Mychel Sanchez aboard. This three-year-old gelding moneyed all five of his career starts, winning one.
Plenty of long-odds flyers in this match, but I see nothing to indicate any of them will see a payday here.
- Win: Rock On Luke 8/5
Picks for Parx Racing Race 9
This is an allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile on the main track for a purse of $45,000.
I’m going with the 9/5 favorite in this race — Wicked Awesome, with Frankie Pennington in the irons. This four-year-old filly finished in the money for 11 of her 20 career starts, winning seven of them.
Surprisingly, there are no entries in this race with odds long enough to make a show ticket worth the risk. I do, however, see a trifecta here: Wicked Awesome, Dreamer’s Moon, and Promised Storm.
Dreamer’s Moon is ridden by Jonathan Ocasio, and moneyed 11 of her 24 starts, winning seven. Not only that, but Ocasio brings a seven-pound apprentice allowance to the race.
Promised Storm, ridden by Luis M. Ocasio in this race, has moneyed 17 of his 25 career starts, winning seven.
- Win: Wicked Awesome 9/5
- Trifecta: Wicked Awesome, Dreamer’s Moon, Promised Storm (5-7-4)
