Parx Racing Picks – Tuesday, January 12, 2021

This is a maiden claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $27,000.

It’s the combination of some good non-money finishes in two stakes races as well as the seven-pound apprentice allowance that makes me agree with the morning line and buy a win ticket for the 3/1 favorite Buyer’s Remorse, ridden by Laureano Flores, Jr. This four-year-old filly moneyed three of her eight career starts.

In 2019, she placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the Anoakia Stakes (Black Type) and the Chandelier Stakes (Grade I), both at Santa Anita.

Longest odds in this eight-horse race are 12/1, and that one’s just not going to happen.

This is a maiden special weight race for three-year-old Pennsylvania-bred fillies running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $34,000.

I like the 5/2 morning line favorite here — Everymothersprayer, with Frankie Pennington in the irons. This filly moneyed both of her career starts.

While I don’t see a long-odds entry in this field for a value show wager, I do see a prospective trifecta: Everymothersprayer, A Bit Bad N Boujee, and Amaterasu (2-4-7).

A Bit Bad N Boujee, ridden by Navin Mangalee for this run, also moneyed both of her career runs. Amaterasu, ridden Angel R. Rodriguez for this race, moneyed one of her two career starts and had solid speed figures in both.

This is a claiming race for four-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $23,000.

I’m backing the fourth-favored (6/1) entry — Semi Excited, with Jomar Torres aboard. This six-year-old gelding moneyed 12 of his 22 career starts, winning six of them (in contrast, the M/L favorite also moneyed 12 of his 22 starts but won only three of them).

And I like the 15/1 Postino’s Vow, with Mychel Sanchez in the irons, for a value show bet against this field. This seven-year-old gelding moneyed 21 of his 45 career starts, winning six.
