Parx Racing Picks – Tuesday, February 23, 2021

Parx Racing’s ten-race card for Tuesday features the usual assortment of maiden, starter, allowance, and claiming matches.
Parx Racing canceled Monday’s races due to weather, but while Tuesday looks to be a repeat of that rain and snow, as of the time of this writing (Monday, Feb. 22), the races are scheduled to start as planned.
Remember that you can find Parx Racing’s entire ten-race card for Tuesday — including entries, jockeys, morning line odds, and wagering options — at one of our top horse racing betting sites.
Now, read on for my Parx Racing picks and betting tips for Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
Picks for Race 8 at Parx Racing
This is an allowance race for four-year-olds and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $45,000.
My money is on the 2/1 morning line favorite here — Happy Farm, ridden by Angel R. Rodriguez. This seven-year-old gelding had money finishes in 17 of his 23 career starts, nine of them wins.
Yes, I can see those two 20/1 longshots, but the value show ticket for this race is the 15/1 Midnightcharly, with Anthony Y. Nunez aboard. This six-year-old gelding moneyed 13 of his 20 career starts, winning six.
- Win: Happy Farm 2/1
- Show: Midnightcharly 15/1
Picks for Race 9 at Parx Racing
This is an allowance optional claiming race for three-year-olds running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $41,000.
I’m sticking with the 8/5 morning line favorite in this race — Too Boss, with Ruben Silvera in the irons. This colt moneyed both of his career starts with a second-place finish in December and then breaking his maiden in January — both runs at Aqueduct. He’s on a roll.
And I like the 10/1 Smokum Peace Pipe, ridden by Frankie Pennington, for a value show wager. This gelding moneyed three of his five career starts, winning one. Incidentally, I touted this horse back in November, the run where he broke his maiden (Pennington was in the irons then, too).
- Win: Too Boss 8/5
- Show: Smokum Peace Pipe 10/1
Picks for Race 10 at Parx Racing
This is a starter allowance race for fillies and mares four years old and upward running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $22,000.
My money is on the third-favored (5/1) entry in this race — Stabilize, with Jaime Rodriguez aboard. This five-year-old mare finished in the money for 12 of her 15 career starts, winning five.
At 15/1, Cold Hearted Pearl, ridden by Angel Castillo, looks good for a value show bet. This seven-year-old mare moneyed 30 of her 54 career starts, winning 14 of them.
- Win: Stabilize 5/1
- Show: Cold Hearted Pearl 15/1
