Parx Racing Picks – Tuesday, December 29, 2020

Parx Racing has a full ten-race card of maiden, starter, allowance, and claiming matches for our Tuesday betting activities.
I review three of Parx Racing’s richest races here, but you can find their entire ten-race card — including entries, jockeys, M/L odds, and wagering options — at one of our recommended online racebooks.
Now, read on for my Parx Racing picks and betting tips for Tuesday, December 29.
Picks for Race 5 at Parx Racing
This is an allowance race for Pennsylvania-bred three-year-olds and upward running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $35,000.
I like the third-favored (4/1) entry in this race — Strawberry Red, with Edwin Rivera in the irons. This six-year-old gelding moneyed 16 of his 37 career starts, winning nine.
Wise Jude, at 15/1 and with Dexter Haddock aboard, looks good for a value show ticket in this race. This five-year-old moneyed 14 of his 26 career starts, winning two.
- Win: Strawberry Red 4/1
- Show: Wise Jude 15/1
Picks for Race 6 at Parx Racing
This is a starter allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $23,000.
My money is on the fourth-favored (5/1) entry in this race — Mia Bella Rossa, ridden by Jaime Rodriguez. This six-year-old mare finished in the money 23 of her 40 career starts, winning 13 of them.
I see a potential sleeper in this race — the 8/1 Tomarie, with Frankie Pennington in the irons. This four-year-old filly moneyed 13 of her 22 career starts, winning six. With Pennington aboard, Tomarie might surprise us.
There’s just one 20/1 longshot in this race, but I don’t see that horse seeing a paycheck at the finish line, so let’s save our long money for later.
- Win: Mia Bella Rossa 5/1
- Sleeper: Tomarie 8/1
Picks for Race 9 at Parx Racing
This is a starter allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $50,000.
I’m sticking with the 9/2 morning line favorite in this race — Big Red Seven, with Dexter Haddock aboard. This eight-year-old mare moneyed 31 of her 63 career starts, winning 11 of them.
I see a sleeper in the 8/1 Linda’s Ballet, ridden by Jeremy Laprida. This four-year-old filly moneyed six of her 14 career starts, winning three — which actually gives her a better record than the top three-morning line favorites.
Counting the also-eligibles, there are potentially seven 20/1 longshots in this race — and not a single one of them has a record that suggests she could finish this race early enough for a paycheck.
- Win: Big Red Seven 6/1
- Sleeper: Linda’s Ballet 8/1
