Parx Racing Picks – Tuesday, December 1, 2020

| November 30, 2020 1:55 pm PDT

Parx Racing has plenty of claiming races on the schedule for Tuesday, although they add a couple of starter allowance and regular allowance races to even out the card.

I cover Tuesday’s three richest races at Parx, but you can find their entire race card — including entries, jockeys, M/L odds, and wagering options — at one of our recommended online racebooks.

Read on for my Parx Racing picks and betting tips for Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

Pick for Race 6 at Parx Racing

This is a starter allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $27,000.

I like the second-favored (7/2) entry in this race — Call Me Daddy, with Dexter Haddock in the irons. This three-year-old colt moneyed seven of his 11 career starts, winning three.

Plenty of longer-odds entries in this race, but none that look to do any better than follow the other horses, so let’s save our long money for later.

  • Win: Call Me Daddy 7/2

Pick for Race 8 at Parx Racing

This is an allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $41,000.

I’m betting on the second-favored (3/1) entry here — Mr Thrifty, ridden by veteran jockey Frankie Pennington. This three-year-old colt has a better record than either of the morning line’s favorite coupled-entry horses: Seven money finishes in 11 career starts, one a win.

Sure, the coupled-entry horses each have more wins than Mr Thrifty, but it took them two to three times as many starts to achieve that.

I don’t see any of the longer-odds entries in this 11-horse race finishing anywhere near the money, so let’s keep ours in our pockets.

  • Win: Mr Thrifty 3/1

Pick for Race 9 at Parx Racing

This is an allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $40,000.

I’m buying a win ticket on the third-favored (9/2) entry in this race — Chub Wagon, with Jeremy Laprida aboard. This three-year-old filly won her single career start.

For comparison, the morning line favorite moneyed nine of her 17 career starts, winning five.

And there are no long-odds entries in this race worth risking a show bet.

  • Win: Chub Wagon 9/2

More Parx Racing Picks and Predictions for Tuesday

Parx was a bit stingy with show bets but came through for us on underdog win picks. I found more of both, of course, at the other two tracks I reviewed for Tuesday:
