Inter Miami’s maiden MLS win came against Orlando last month, and the Florida rivals are facing off again on Saturday, September 12.

The Herons picked up their second victory with a shock 2-1 win over Atlanta United in midweek, but they still find themselves joint-bottom in the Eastern Conference. At the other end of the standings, a four-game unbeaten run has seen the Lions move up to fourth.

Inter Miami’s recent victory over Orlando doesn’t seem to have affected the bookies’ odds for this game. The best online soccer betting sites view the home side as the clear favorite to win on Saturday, and although Miami has picked up some positive results lately, it’s difficult to argue with the prices here.

Can the Herons upset the odds once again? I assess both teams’ chances below.

These two sides produced a five-goal thriller last month. Julian Carranza’s early double, along with Rodolfo Pizarro’s second-half strike, cancelled out goals from Daryl Dike and Nani to hand Inter Miami their first-ever MLS win.

However, since their previous meeting, the teams have been moving in opposite directions. Orlando responded with back-to-back 3-1 victories over Nashville and Atlanta before drawing their following two games, while Miami failed to win any of their next three outings.

Having netted four goals in five appearances, Orlando forward Daryl Dike was named MLS Player of the Month for August. The 20-year-old has been pivotal to the Lions’ recent success, so he will no doubt be pleased to have gained some recognition for his efforts.

After making it all the way to the final of the MLS is Back Tournament, Oscar Pareja’s men have continued to establish themselves as a genuine force in American soccer.

Miami comes into this game on the back of a spectacular victory over Atlanta. Sure, beating the Five Stripes may not be as impressive as it once was. But it would be cruel to take anything away from Diego Alonso’s side.

Scotland international Lewis Morgan bagged a stunning brace to grab the headlines, but it was ultimately a spirited team performance that earned Miami their second win of the season.

I think it’s important that we don’t get too carried away with the Herons’ win in midweek. Atlanta is nowhere near their best right now, and Miami is by no means the first team to get the better of the fallen giant this year.

Of course, Orlando lost to Miami last month. But since then, the Lions have been almost unstoppable. Pareja’s side has picked up eight points from their past four games, and I’m backing Orlando to add a further three points to their tally this weekend.
