OG vs. Alliance – Friday, November 13, 2020
The Epic League Division 1 features many of the best Dota 2 teams in the world and we’re about to witness many exciting matches. One of the best examples is the clash between OG and Alliance on Friday.
Both teams have the talent and experience to fight for the trophy and I’m sure that both would love to start with a big win.
I share my thoughts on their chances for the opener in this OG vs. Alliance betting preview. It includes the latest odds, an analysis of both sides, my prediction, and a free betting pick.
OG vs. Alliance Odds
The OG vs. Alliance odds I’ve used here are courtesy of BetOnline, one of my favorite sportsbooks for Dota 2 on the internet. The betting site offers plenty of markets for all big tournaments, including Epic League Division 1.
OG Recent Form
We saw some excellent Dota by OG in the Omega League 2020, but the team has been inconsistent since. September and October were full of defeats and while the squad has been competitive in most of them, the record is not especially flattering.
Three of these losses came against Alliance and that’s a tough opponent for OG. I can’t say there’s a particular reason and all games were close, so it’s not the end of the world.
Let’s also remember how OG were struggling early in the year before showing up big time in the Omega League. The team has the capacity to rise to the occasion, so I expect a strong performance in the upcoming Epic League Division 1.
Alliance Recent Form
I must admit that I really like Alliance and I believe that the team can be one of the best in the world. We’ve seen how talented every member of the roster is time and time again, but I’m not sure that the squad’s strategy is always on point.
I have the feeling that both S4 and Limmp are somewhat limited by the Alliance’s desire to provide nikobaby with enough space to farm. Don’t get me wrong, the Bulgarian is an absolute beast and one of the best carries out there.
And yet, a more balanced approach could deliver better results. We’ve seen that before and especially against OG.
I see Alliance as one of the potential Epic League Division 1 winners, so my expectations for the opening clash are high. The team should have plenty of confidence after beating the same opponent several times recently too.
OG vs. Alliance Prediction and Pick
I believe that both teams can be among the title contenders in the upcoming tournament, so I expect a fierce clash at the start. I’m leaning towards Alliance but only slightly, and the odds are not high enough to back.
I don’t see how any of the squads can win this one in two, so the price of +107 for over 2.5 games looks great.
