Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors NBA Prediction for December 28, 2021

The Golden State Warriors will host the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. The Warriors have been incredible this season with an NBA best record of 27-6. The Nuggets on the other hand are 16-16, but have suffered some major injuries this season.
For this game, the spotlight will be on both superstars for each team. Steph Curry for the Warriors and Nikola Jokic for the Nuggets both have a chance to have big games.
Here is why each team can win and my final prediction for this game on NBA TV.
Odds for Nuggets vs. Warriors
Right off the bat you can see the Warriors are pretty hefty favorites. It is a bit of a surprise because they will be without two of their best players. Draymond Green and Jordan Poole have been ruled out for this one already.
The Nuggets are far from the healthiest team themselves. They have been without two stars in Jamal Murray and Michael Porter, so they know the feeling.
This game has a chance to be a close and entertaining one. If you want these exact odds, head over to BetOnline to place your bets.
Why the Nuggets Will Win
The Nuggets have not been great this season, specifically against the spread. Their 13-19 record ATS is bottom 4 in the league right now, so they could be in trouble against the Warriors (21-12-2 ATS).
Jokic is carrying this Nuggets’ team through this season. He has a huge lead in points, rebounds, assists, and steals per game compared to his teammates. The 2020-21 MVP is having himself another incredible season in the NBA.
Monte Morris is probable for this game after being listed as a game time decision. Aaron Gordon has a questionable tag, so we have to wait a little longer to see if he is going to play. The Nuggets are going to need all the help they can get if they want to win today or even cover the spread.
At the end of the day, Jokic can have a great game but the Nuggets need more than that. Players like Will Barton, Morris, Gordon, and bench players need to step their game up in this one.
This is the first time they are playing the Warriors this season and they play them again in their next game Thursday.
Why the Warriors Will Win
Despite the Warriors being without Draymond and Poole, they should still have a strong chance of winning this one. Curry can go off in any game and this one is no different. He might even get more touches than he is used to with Poole out of the lineup.
Other players due for more touches include Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Gary Payton. Wiggins is back from health and safety protocols, so his conditioning might be something to keep an eye on. The rookie Kuminga could be in for a breakout game and prove why he was drafted 7th overall.

The Nuggets aren’t doing very well this season, ranking 20th in Offensive Rating and 19th in Defensive Rating. The Warriors are statistically the best defensive team (1st in Defensive Rating) and are 3rd in Offensive Rating as well.
The Nuggets are also allowing the 6th highest field goal percentage, while the Warriors have the 3rd best field goal percentage.
Everything is pointing towards a Warriors win tonight, but it will come down to how well they play without Draymond and Poole.
My Pick for Nuggets vs. Warriors
This one is a bit tough considering the health of these two teams. I would feel much safer going with the Warriors than the Nuggets, but let’s look at some over/under stats as well.
With the Warriors going to be without their 3rd highest scorer (Poole 17.9 points per game) and best playmaker (Green has highest assist average), the under is looking like a solid bet. The Nuggets also play at a slower pace (24th in Pace), so that is in favor of the under as well.
If you prefer a team, take the Warriors, but I am rolling with the under in this one. Head over to the best NBA betting sites to place your bets.
