Betting Predictions and Best Bets for the NHL Games – Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022

Welcome back to our NHL picks for the day, with 4 great games to bet on tonight. We have officially hit the middle of the week, so a nice NHL betting night would be great to help us get through the week.
With a small slate today, we still have to be thorough with our picks and make sure we are betting smart. Only one of these games has a heavy favorite, while the rest of them should be air tight.
Let’s take a look at the odds for today’s NHL games.
NHL Odds for Wednesday Night
- Buffalo Sabres (+320) vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (-400), O/U 6.5
- St. Louis Blues (-115) vs. New York Rangers (-105), O/U 5.5
- Los Angeles Kings (+120) vs. Dallas Stars (-140), O/U 5.5
- Nashville Predators (-170) vs. Seattle Kraken (+150), O/U 5.5
The heaviest favorite of the day is the Toronto Maple Leafs at a whopping (-400) over the Buffalo Sabres. It is in the range that betting on their moneyline is not very appetizing and we will have to resort to the puck line or goal total.
That is also predicted to be the highest scoring game with the goal total set at 6.5 goals. The rest of the games are on the lower end at 5.5, so if you like high scoring action, check out the Sabres and Leafs game.
The Kings had their 5 game winning streak snapped in dramatic fashion to the Bruins (7-0) on Monday, so they will be looking to get back in the winner’s column against the Stars. Although it will be hard, as they are set as the underdogs for this one on the road.
Nashville and Seattle will finish our night off at 10:00 p.m ET for puck drop.

Top NHL Betting Predictions for March 2nd
- Toronto Over Buffalo By 2+
- Blues vs. Rangers Under 5.5 Goals
- Los Angeles Over Dallas
- Nashville Over Seattle
The heaviest favorite of the day should be able to take care of business tonight against Buffalo. Buffalo has lost 6 straight games, all by 2 or more goals. Toronto has won their past 3 games by 2 more goals against solid teams like the Wild, Red Wings, and Capitals.

Toronto is also an impressive 19-5-1 at home, while Buffalo is an unimpressive 8-16-4 on the road.
The Blues and Rangers game is shaping up to be a huge defensive battle. Both goalies are doing incredible this year and average under 2.03 goals allowed per game this year, while the Rangers are the top under team in the NHL.
The Kings are underdogs against the Stars, but there’s a solid chance for an upset here. They have won 7 out of their last 9 games and are very good on the road (15-6-5). Dallas is very good at home at 19-7-1, but LA is good enough to pull off the upset.
The last game of the night features the Predators taking on the Kraken. I am a bit surprised that the line isn’t more in the Predators favor because of how these teams have been this year.
Seattle is on a mean 7 game losing streak and are 9-17-3 at home this year. Nashville hasn’t been too hot either, losing 5 of their last 7 games but they are way better overall at 30-19-4.

Best Bets for the NHL Games on 3/2/2022
- Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 (-170)
- Dallas Stars Under 3.5 Team Goals (-150)
- Seattle Kraken Under 2.5 Team Goals (-125)
These are my top picks of the day, so hopefully we can go 3-0 to help get us through the week. Toronto is one of the league’s best teams and they have been great recently. They also get home ice advantage against a struggling Sabres team, so winning by 2+ seems very doable.
Toronto dominates Buffalo in most important categories for this game. They are a top 7 team in goals, shots on goal, power play percentage, shooting percentage, and faceoff percentage. They actually rank first in the league in power play and faceoff percentages.
I also like the Stars to score less than 4 goals tonight against the Kings. It seems a bit odd how high that line is set considering the total goals set for this game is barely above it at 5.5. The Kings allow the 9th (tied) best goals per game at 2.8.
Jonathan Quick joined Marc-Andre Fleury (508) and Carey Price (360) as just the third active goaltender to reach the 350-win mark.#NHLStats: https://t.co/TP7ray7aGk pic.twitter.com/HhBrHbkvaQ

Jonathan Quick is coming off a bad night against a hot Bruins team, but he should be able to bounce back tonight.
Dallas’ offense ranks tied for 21st in goals per game, so asking for 4 goals against a tough defense seems like a lot here. The Kings also allow the least amount of shots on goal per game, which makes the opposing teams have to make their shots.
Seattle only scored 3+ goals in 3 out of 11 February games. Juuse Saros is a tough goalie too, saving 92.3% of shots.
