Predictions and Best Bets for the NHL Games – Monday, February 21st, 2022

Hopefully everyone enjoyed their weekend of betting with the NHL and the NBA All-Star break. We are right back in action with the NHL on Monday, while the NBA continues their mid season rest.
Today we have 5 games scheduled, starting as early as 1:00 p.m. ET and as late as 10:00 p.m ET. A full day of hockey for today, which means we could have a very fun day of betting.
We were able to predict all 5 of Friday’s games our last time, so let’s try and repeat our success today. Here are the odds for every game today for Monday’s NHL slate.
NHL Odds for Monday, February 21st
- Colorado Avalanche (-175) vs. Boston Bruins (+158), O/U 6
- Carolina Hurricanes (-197) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (+177), O/U 6
- Winnipeg Jets (+182) vs. Calgary Flames (-203), O/U 6
- Toronto Maple Leafs (-370) vs. Montreal Canadiens (+322), O/U 6
- Seattle Kraken (+140) vs. Vancouver Canucks (-155) O/U 5.5
There are all the general odds for today’s NHL games from BetOnline. If you like a certain team’s price just by looking at the odds, head over there to place your bets.
The heaviest favorite of the day goes to the Toronto Maple Leafs, who should be able to beat the Montreal Canadiens today. Montreal has been terrible this year after making it to the Stanley Cup last year.

Toronto is also the only team who is still favored to cover their puck line of -1.5 (-145). All the other teams today who are favored have plus odds in the puck line category, so Toronto stands out today there.
Colorado and Carolina are the other two teams who are favored to win today despite being on the road.
Carolina has the third best NHL record currently and takes on the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers have struggled this season with a record of 15-25-9. It isn’t a surprise to see the Hurricanes favored to win this game because of how each team has looked this season.
The Flames and Canucks are favored to win at home, with the Flames currently on a 9 game winning streak.
Vancouver will host Seattle to close out the night, and that game is projected to be very low scoring.
Expert Predictions for the NHL Games on Monday
- Colorado Over Boston
- Carolina Over Philadelphia
- Calgary Over Winnipeg
- Toronto vs. Winnipeg Over 6 Goals
- Vancouver Over Seattle
I would also say that Toronto should beat the Canadiens, maybe by 2 as well. The reason I like the over is because they are opting to give their starting goalie a rest in a very good matchup. Petr Mrazek will be in net, taking over for Jack Campbell. Campbell has started 35 games for the Leafs and has been impressive with a 23-8-3 record.
Colorado is another team that has been playing as well as the Flames. They are 8-1-1 in their last ten, while Boston is 4-4-2. They are the league’s best team right now for a reason and they should be able to beat the Bruins today.
Boston not having their leading scorer is going to hurt today, especially against a team that will definitely get their fair share of goals.
Didn't catch our win over the Kraken? Don't fret, here's our highlight pack!#Flames | @scotiabank pic.twitter.com/FeEvdxj0R6

The Flyers have been struggling a bit more as of late, going 2-7-1 in their last 10 games. Carolina ranks 6th in goals per game, while pairing that with the 2nd best goals allowed per game. It would be quite an upset if Philadelphia would be able to win.
I think Calgary reaches double digits for their win streak today, as I find it very hard to go against a team that is playing this well though.
I think the trickiest game to predict tonight will be the last one between the Kraken and Canucks. Neither team has done too amazing this year, but Vancouver has the better record and their at home.
NHL Best Bets for NHL Games on 2/21/2022
- Colorado Avalanche to Win (-175)
- Carolina Hurricanes to Win (-197)
- Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens Over 6 (-125)
These are my top picks of the day, but you are more than welcome to bet on more on the best NHL betting sites.
I think Colorado should win their game today despite a tough matchup against Boston. Carolina should be able to take care of business against the struggling Flyers as well. I also like the over more than taking very negative odds for the Leafs to win.
I would say Calgary today as well, but every winning streak is snapped eventually. They are playing very well right now and could continue their dominance, but you never know when their streak will be snapped.
Hopefully we can continue our NHL success today and start off our work week right. Head back to our NHL picks page for more recommended bets.
