Best Bets and Predictions for Friday’s NHL Games – February 25th, 2022

Welcome back to some more NHL betting action for this Friday, February 25th. We have 6 great games on schedule to help send us into the weekend. Let’s try and build our betting accounts so we can finish our week in the best way possible.

There are some great teams who play today that will make for some entertaining bets and games to watch. The Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues, and Vegas Golden Knights all play today.

They also play at different times, so we should be able to have nonstop NHL action for today. Let’s check out the odds and build our betting sheets for today’s NHL games.

We have some games today with heavy favorites, but there are also some games that should be very close. In order to combat the heavy odds of the favorites, you can either combine them together in a parlay, take their puck line, or even bet on the underdog.

The Hurricanes, Blues, Avalanche, and Golden Knights are pretty solid favorites today over their opponents. They take on the Blue Jackets, Sabres, and Coyotes respectively, who have all struggled this year.

Just last night we saw the league’s best defensive team in the Calgary Flames give up a whopping 7 goals to the Vancouver Canucks, who have the 23rd ranked goals per game average.

Games like that are always possible and never cease to surprise us. Will today be more of that, or will the top dogs be able to take care of business?

With that being said, let’s get right into our predictions for today’s NHL games.

I am not finding any big underdog very intriguing to bet on today given their very tough matchups. Carolina should be able to take care of Columbus at home, despite losing 6-0 in their last game against the Blue Jackets.

Ville Husso has been great for the Blues and is allowing only 1.97 goals per game, while his counterpart in Dustin Tokarski gives up 3.35 goals per game for the Sabres.

The Blues are also top 10 in goals, power play percentage, shooting percentage, goals allowed, penalty kill percentage, and penalty minutes. The Sabres are not top 10 in anything, in fact they are ranked in the low 20s for most of their important team stats.

Nathan MacKinnon will return to the Colorado Avalanche lineup for the team's game against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night.

The Avalanche have won 3 out of their last 4 and enjoy a very good home matchup against Winnipeg. Colorado is 21-3-2 at home, while Winnipeg is not a threatening road team at 9-10-8. Colorado dominated the Jets in their last game as well, winning 7-1.

The Blackhawks are one of the worst offenses in the NHL and won’t have their top goalie tonight. Kevin Lankinen will be the starter and gives up 3.41 goals per game. The backup goalie and a struggling offense won’t win you a lot of games at all, even against a struggling team like New Jersey.

I also like the Kings to beat Anaheim on the road tonight. The Kings are 3rd in shots on goal per game, while allowing the fewest shots on goal on defense in the NHL.

For starters, I like Buffalo to stay under 3 team goals against a tough Blues team. They average 2.62 goals per game, which ranks 26th in the NHL. The Blues only allow 2.72 goals per game, which is 6th best in the NHL.

Ville Husso has only allowed 3 goals in regulation just once in his last 4 starts. The Sabres have the lowest faceoff percentage and 26th worst shots on goal per game. They’ll struggle to even get to Husso, let alone through him.

The Blackhawks are the league’s 30th ranked scoring team with 2.37 goals per game. The Devils aren’t a super good defensive team with 3.51 goals allowed per game, but I don’t see the Blackhawks rattling off 4 goals. Since January 31st, Chicago has scored 4 goals in just 2 of their 8 total games.

The Ducks aren’t going to be super easy to beat for LA, but the odds are nice here. The Ducks’ goalie John Gibson has allowed 4+ goals in his last 4 starts, with an average of 4.75 per game during that span.

Los Angeles also has a great matchup in the faceoff department as well.

With Gibson’s struggles and Kings being able to dominate the shots on goal battle, they should be able to get the road win here.
