Best NHL DFS Picks and Advice – Tuesday, February 15th, 2022

| February 15, 2022 12:46 pm PDT

We have tons of great players to choose from for our NHL DFS lineups today. There are 9 games set for today and we have some of the best players in the league playing. The Oilers will be taking on the Kings tonight, which means two of the NHL’s top point scorers will be in action.

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are both capable of launching your DFS picks into the green zone. We also have Alexander Ovechkin, Nathan MacKinnon, David Pastrnak, and Nikita Kucherov for tonight’s slate as well.

These top players can shape tonight’s NHL DFS slate, but there are still more great players to choose from today.

Let’s take a look at the best players and lineup for NHL DFS today.

Top NHL DFS Picks for Tuesday

  • Andrei Vasilevskiy, G, Lightning ($8.3k)
  • Sidney Crosby, C, Penguins ($7.4k)
  • Nikita Kucherov, RW, Lightning ($8.5k)
  • Alex Ovechkin, LW, Capitals ($9.2k)
  • Brayden Point, C, Lightning ($7.2k)

As you can see from the top picks, the Lightning should be in for a field day. They have a plus matchup against the New Jersey Devils and their DFS players could all provide solid points.

Starting with the goalie. Vasilevskiy should be able to notch his 26th win tonight and get some decent saves against the Devils.

He went up against them on January 27th and had a nice fantasy night with 20.7 points.

Kucherov and Point are two more great plays to take advantage of their matchup tonight. The Lightning should be able to take care of business and provide some decent fantasy points as well. Point is a great play when you take his price into consideration as well.

Ovechkin makes sense most nights in DFS, but his price is pretty steep. If you like some other players that have a lot of value, you could fit Ovechkin into your lineup.

Sidney Crosby is another great center to play tonight. The Penguins take on the Flyers, who give up the 7th most fantasy points to opposing centers. Crosby has scored at least 16 fantasy points in 6 straight games.

Sleeper NHL DFS Picks for February 15th

  • Blake Coleman, RW, Flames ($3.4k)
  • Mikael Backlund, C, Flames ($3.4k)
  • Matthias Ekholm, D, Predators ($3.0k)
  • Sean Durzi, D, Kings ($3.4k)
  • Ondrej Palat, LW, Lightning ($4.8k)

In order to be able to afford those more expensive players, you are going to have to pair them with cheaper, valuable guys. These players are very inexpensive and could provide some decent points given their matchups.

Coleman and Backlund get a great matchup against the Blue Jackets. Coleman has chipped in at least 6 fantasy points in 5 straight games. He also had a huge 30.8 fantasy point outing against the Coyotes in that span as well.

Backlund has been great recently as well. In his past three games he has averaged 17.67 fantasy points per game.

These two Flames’ players are very cheap and have a great matchup. They are looking at some serious value tonight.

Ekholm doesn’t have a great matchup against the Capitals, but he can chip in well considering his price. He has had at least 22 minutes of ice time in 7 straight games, averaging a little more than 8 fantasy points per game.

The Kings have four defenseman on the shelf tonight, which opens up minutes for Sean Durzi. He’s gotten at least 18 minutes of ice time in his last three outings and got 2 assists in the game against the Flyers on January 29th.

Palat is another Lightning player that you should consider tonight. If the Lighting have a firm lead in this one, they might run their second and third unit a bit more than usual. Palat would benefit nicely from that and be a great value play. He got 5 shots on goal in his last game against the Coyotes.

Best NHL DFS Lineup for 2/15/2022

  • C – Sidney Crosby ($7.4k)
  • C – Brayden Point ($7.2k)
  • W – Blake Coleman ($3.4k)
  • W – Nikita Kucherov ($8.5k)
  • W – Artemi Panarin ($5.2k)
  • D – Sean Durzi ($3.4k)
  • D – Mattias Ekholm ($3.0k)
  • G – Andrei Vasilevskiy ($8.3k)
  • UTIL – Mikael Backlund ($3.4k)

This lineup has a solid build around it with some top level guys and value supporters. Crosby and Point aren’t as expensive as the other players like Ovechkin and McDavid, but still could have a night comparable to them.

Kucherov is my most expensive play tonight, but he could bounce back from a zero point performance in his last game in a major way. The Devils likely won’t be able to beat the Lightning and Kucherov is a big reason why.

This lineup has a couple hundred dollars of remaining salary left on DraftKings, so feel free to swap out some players for ones you like better for today’s slate. Also be sure to check back closer to game time for the final injury report, as that can open up some value for tonight as well.
