Top NFL Player Props Bets for Cardinals vs. Titans (Week 1, 2021)

| September 10, 2021 8:12 am PDT

Week one is coming at bettors at a torrid pace. One of the marque games to bet on this week is undoubtedly the Cardinals vs. Titans contest, which could be a firestorm.

I broke down as much in my week one Cardinals vs. Titans betting pick, and you can see what I landed on for that game’s best bet.

There could be more money to be made in an explosive showdown like this, of course, and one way to get paid is to attack some NFL player props.

I see a few that stand out, so join me for my favorite Cardinals vs. Titans player prop bets for week one.

Kyler Murray Under 43.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Normally I’d be all over this prop, as Murray is known for his explosive rushing ability. The guy did rack up 819 yards on the ground in 2020, and had 544 as a rookie the year before.

His average rushing yardage mark was 51.2 per game last year, after all.

I get that, but three things give me cause for pause. First, this isn’t some super low total. For normal quarterbacks, it’s actually quite high.

Secondly, Murray has been vocal about potentially cutting back how much he runs going forward.

“Honestly, the way I see it, my legs should be a luxury.”

My guess is getting hurt last year – and subsequently struggling down the stretch – allowed him to see that health is valuable.

Lastly, the Titans were actually good at containing quarterbacks on the ground in 2020. Tennessee’s defense stinks, but they allowed the 8th fewest rushing attempts to passers, and ranked 9th in quarterback rushing yards allowed on the year.

Murray can make me look silly with one run, but I’m banking on most of his damage coming through the air in this one.

Derrick Henry to Score a Touchdown (-189)

Not every week one NFL player prop has to be about getting the most value. You certainly should shop around for this line, as I’ve seen it at -225 and -240 at some sites.

The lowest right now is -189, and that feels like a bit of a steal for one of the best bets to score a touchdown in the NFL in any random week.

Henry’s rushing yardage prop is set at 102.5 yards, and that’s just too high for me to get on board with.

Here, you can just bet on him scoring one time and feel pretty good about it. After all, he literally averaged one score a game over his last 31 contests.

DeAndre Hopkins Over 78.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Nuk is just a machine, and I don’t think the arrival of a likely washed A.J. Green or a diminutive rookie like Rondale Moore is going to curb his upside.

The point? Hopkins still feasted to the tune of 160 targets and 115 catches last year. That was his first year with Murray in Arizona, too, so it stands to reason that he could be even better in his second season with the Cardinals.

Hopkins averaged 87.9 receiving yards per game in 2020, and in week one he gets a dreadful Titans defense that coughed up the 28th most passing yards per contest last season.

This is a match made in heaven. I love the Over for Nuk’s receiving yards to start the season.

Julio Jones Over 53.5 Receiving Yards (-149)

Another receiving yardage prop that stands out is Julio’s for week one. The former Falcons phenom is being treated like a scrub these days, but he’s still a major part of what the Titans will be doing on offense.

Let’s not forget how effective he was last year.

  • 68 targets
  • 51 catches
  • 771 yards
  • 15.1 yards per catch

Jones did that in fewer than nine games, as he was less than 100% for at least two of them. He was on a monster pace, and he was still doing damage after the catch.

Even if he isn’t able to move after he catches the ball, his size and catch radius make him a problem. Arizona also has to worry about Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown, so it’s not as if they can just double Jones all day and live to tell about it.

Jones topped this mark in six of his nine 2020 appearances. Unless the Titans just freeze him out, I expect him to be active in his Tennessee debut. Julio notching 54+ receiving yards doesn’t feel like a very tall order.

My Favorite Cardinals vs. Titans Player Prop for Week 1

Where everyone zigs, it pays to zag. Derrick Henry is the main guy in this game for rushing props, and I absolutely like him to score.

However, when it comes to rushing yardage, I love Ryan Tannehill to eclipse 15.5 yards at a nice -115 price.

Tannehill hitting the Over is my top bet in this game, for a couple of reasons.

That obviously isn’t a big milestone, as he’d need just 16 rushing yards to make you some money. It’s something he did six times in 2020, and he came close (12+ yards) on two other occasions.

In week one, he faces an Arizona defense that ranked dead last in the NFL at stopping mobile quarterbacks. One run could do the trick, but Tannehill could get free for a couple, and we know he’s always a threat near the goal-line (7 rushing scores last year).

Of course, I like all of these week one Cardinals vs. Titans player props. Pick and choose which you like, and be sure to target props from other games, as well.
