Best NFL Picks ATS for Week 14 – Can the Lions Do it Again?

| December 9, 2021 7:13 am PDT

If you’re looking for some of the best NFL picks against the spread, you’ve come to the right place. My NFL picks ATS have been hitting lately, and in week 13 my favorite plays went 3-1.

The spreads I suggest can obviously change at any time, and depending on where you bet, the odds may not be exactly what I list here, as well.

All of the odds and pricing in this post come from BetOnline, though, so you can either head there to place your bets, or take your chances elsewhere.

I already went over my week 14 NFL predictions, so you’re covered for straight up picks. It doesn’t always pay to bet on moneylines, of course, so let’s dive into my favorite NFL picks against the spread for week 14.

Detroit Lions (+7.5) -112

The Detroit Lions didn’t just work out as a fun ATS pick last week. They flat out won, giving them their first victory of the 2021 NFL season.

Head coach Dan Campbell revealed after the game that he and his Lions had more than that elusive win on their minds, of course.

While the Lions have been playing with heavy hearts, they’d been getting closer and closer to that win throughout the year. You wouldn’t know it by looking at their 1-10-1 record, but Detroit has just three losses by more than 10 points on the year.

The Lions are surprisingly pesky, and this week they’re touchdown underdogs against a Broncos team that came out flat in a big game against the Chiefs.

Detroit also happens to own one of the best records (8-4) against the spread in the entire league. I doubt they win for the second week in a row after losing their previous 11 games, but I think they can again keep it close.

Buffalo Bills (+3.5) -117

The Bills have had a weird 2021 NFL season. In week one they lost to the Steelers. That wakeup call prompted them to rattle off four straight wins.

Suddenly, this was the best team in football.

Since then, the Bills have been inconsistent, going 3-4 over their last seven. A week 13 loss to the Patriots hurt their chances to win the AFC East for the second year in a row, too.

Suffice to say, it’s time for Buffalo to wake up and play up to their potential. A road date with the defending champion Buccaneers is as good of a time as any, while the best NFL sportsbooks have this game projected to be a wild shootout.

I think you can hammer the Over here, but I also love the Bills to keep it interesting.

The +3.5 line is perfect, as this game could (and should) come down to a kick that ices it for the victor.

Buffalo is usually dominant in their wins, but in defeat they have lost by a touchdown or less four times in 2021. They’re also 1-0 ATS as an underdog this season, so they’ve responded well in this spot before.

New Orleans Saints (-5) -110

I also really like the Saints this week. Instead of beating a spread, though, I think they can cover against the lowly Jets.

Zach Wilson looked improved a week ago, but he still has a long way to go, and a matchup with a strong Saints defense looks tough on paper.

Remember, the Cowboys needed four Taysom Hill interceptions to pull away last week, and New Orleans has largely been competitive all year long.

Speaking of Hill, I absolutely won’t look past his finger injury, but he can still be effective as a runner, and he gets Alvin Kamara back this week.

If Hill’s injury isn’t a major factor, I give the edge to the Saints in regards to their coaching, defense, and ground game. Hill just needs to get out of his own way here.

My Top NFL Pick Against the Spread in Week 14

  • Cowboys (-4)

My favorite pick against the spread this week is Dallas to cover against Washington. The Cowboys have been raked over the coals for their performance in recent weeks, but they’re simply the more talented team here.

Washington has been good defensively, and I doubt that changes too much in a crucial matchup that helps decide the NFC East. However, do I trust Taylor Heinicke to play mistake-free football in a game of this magnitude? Not at all.

Dallas can win down the field with their passing game, and their defense should be able to get to Heinicke.

The game should be close, but I see the Cowboys pulling away to help cement their status as one of the best teams in the league.

As mentioned, I also offer straight up NFL picks each week, and I also hand out my favorite parlay. Check them out below.
