Best NFL Picks ATS for Week 13 – Lions and Others
My NFL picks against the spread had been on fire, but last week was unsatisfactory. I nailed one bet, but the rest weren’t even close.
Anyone betting on the NFL last week knows that it was a firestorm of insanity, however, so perhaps I should give myself a break. Bad weeks are going to happen in the world of NFL betting too, so sometimes we need to take our lumps and move along.
One piece of advice, though, is to learn from your mistakes. Perhaps the Patriots really are this good. Maybe the Rams aren’t quite that great, either.
Regardless, week 13 in the NFL is here, so it’s time for a fresh batch of NFL picks against the spread. See which NFL picks ATS I am prioritizing at the top sites for betting on the NFL this week.
Detroit Lions (+7) -110
Quick, name a game where the Lions didn’t play hard.
Sure, they’re terrible and they have gotten blown out a few times, but give head coach Dan Campbell credit for keeping games close.
The Lions are winless – and you can bet on whether they stay that way at BetOnline – but they haven’t exactly played like a team that’s incapable of winning games.
Sandwiched between those two tight games was a 13-10 loss to the Browns. In all, Detroit has 11 non-wins on the year, but just six have come by more than a touchdown. One was only by eight points, one was by nine, and another was by 10.
Minnesota isn’t an easy assignment, but the Vikings are just 5-6 on the year. The first meeting was a game the Lions could have easily won, too (19-17 loss).
Detroit has nothing to lose, they’re at home, they’ve been competitive, and they literally almost beat these Vikings. It also doesn’t hurt that Minnesota will be without star rusher, Dalvin Cook.
Vikings’ RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is expected to miss at least the next two games – Sunday at Detroit and the following Thursday against Pittsburgh – with the hope being that he can return the next week for the Monday night Dec. 20 game at Chicago, per source.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 30, 2021
Minnesota is probably going to win, but the Lions are intriguing +250 home dogs, and history suggests they’re a decent bet to keep this closer than a touchdown.
Los Angeles Rams (-13) -105
I am a tad surprised this line hasn’t moved too much. I took a look at the week 13 NFL odds back on Monday, but this spread hasn’t budged.
Los Angeles is in free fall mode, to be sure. They started the season looking like one of the best teams in the NFL at 7-1, and now they’re 7-4.
Usually bettors don’t want to back a team riding a three-game losing streak. It’s even rarer that they should feel great about them winning by two touchdowns.
Even so, I love the Rams against the spread in week 13.
Los Angeles is better than they’ve shown. Some experts certainly are calling for Matthew Stafford and co. to start acting link it.
Odell Beckham Jr. finally got it going with his new team last week, too, and this matchup with the Jaguars is one both sides of the ball can dominate in.
If the Rams can’t snap out of their funk here, they’re clearly in serious trouble. Jacksonville, meanwhile, are 2-9, have dropped three in a row, and have four losses by 13+ points on the year.
This just feels like a total mismatch, while this game is such a must-win for the Rams, that I can’t see them getting tripped up in any regard. The spread is thick, but I like this bet for week 13.
Denver Broncos (+10) -120
Am I just targeting the biggest NFL point spreads in week 13? I guess, but it’s not intentional. I also am not including the Buccaneers (-11.5), so I’m drawing the line somewhere at least.
I really like the Broncos to keep this game close, though.
Denver has had their issues in 2021, but they’re back in the mix for a playoff run – and even the AFC West crown – after going 3-2 over their last five contests.
You wouldn’t think the Broncos are even trying after trading away pass rusher Von Miller a few weeks ago, but here they are, knocking on the door of first place in their division.
It sure doesn’t hurt that they have an emerging star in running back Javonte Williams.

Kansas City has bounced back from a slow start (four straight wins), but three of those wins came by 10 points or less.
The defense is playing well and this is a huge game at home, but it’s hard to ignore their path to victories, nor the fact that the Broncos will undoubtedly show up for this one.
My Top NFL Pick Against the Spread in Week 13
I like all of my NFL picks against the spread for week 13, but my favorite is Miami to cover against the Giants.
Originally, I liked the Giants in this spot due to their defensive play. However, the fact that Daniel Jones won’t be suiting up for this game changes things.
More importantly, you’re trusting in Mike Glennon in this spot if you favor New York at all. It isn’t like Miami has been trash, either.
The Dolphins are back in the AFC playoff picture thanks to four straight wins, and they get this contest in their own backyard. At this point, I think they keep that winning streak rolling, and covering by five points isn’t a reach.
