NFL DFS Picks for Rams vs. Seahawks – TNF, Week 5 (2021)

Thursday Night Football has always been notorious for either having terrible matchups or the product being bad in general.

Whoever put together the Thursday Night Football schedule probably tried their hardest to allow that negative trend to continue, but so far, football on a short week has gone swimmingly.

It may keep following that trend, too, as TNF offers up another fun one when the Los Angeles Rams visit the Seattle Seahawks.

That can start the fantasy football week for you season-long folks, but it also gives NFL DFS fans a fun Showdown slate.

You can also just bet on this game using this Rams vs. Seahawks TNF pick, but if you came here for some TNF DFS help, I’ll offer my top Thursday Night Football picks, as well as my favorite TNF Showdown lineup.

I could literally list ten guys here. For one, these teams are loaded with viable TNF Captain picks, but you also can simply make a case for putting unconventional options in that slot.

Also, the top NFL betting sites set this game’s total at a scorching 54.5. You will want as many of these guys as possible.

My Thursday Night Football fantasy picks are for DraftKings, too, so you always want to consider who offers the most upside with PPR scoring in mind while also paying attention to milestone bonuses.

Pass-catchers are usually a good way to go here, as they tend to be pretty explosive, they get a full point for every reception, and they get a bonus for cracking 100+ receiving yards.

I get that – and would never say you can’t eat the chalk there – but Kupp is probably best used in the FLEX in tournaments.

The reason is ownership. You do want your Captain to do as well as possible, but the lower owned they are, the more different your lineup is. That increases the chances of a big win, provided your FLEX picks hit, as well.

I think all of the options above are fine, but I will probably seek out someone that has upside but is not projected for much Captain exposure.

Do any of these TNF DFS sleepers feel amazing? Not really, but there are so many great plays on this Thursday Night Football Showdown slate that you’ll want to entertain a less than ideal Captain play.

Jefferson and D-Jax are easily the two most appealing options here.

They are in a nice spot against a vulnerable Seahawks secondary that has allowed the 11th most fantasy points to wide receivers, and they only need one huge play to pay off.

I wouldn’t roster them together, and right now, I am leaning toward Jackson just because he’s cheaper.

He also reminded everyone of his deep-threat prowess against the Buccaneers a couple of weeks ago.

Collins toted the rock 10 times last week and scored, so if there’s a chance of a recurring role here, his price puts him in play for me. Dissly also is worth a look, although it’s worth noting that Gerald Everett could be back in time to play on Thursday night.

All of these Thursday night fantasy football sleepers are on the table, and you can always get weird and do a total punt with an ultra-cheap play.

I’m personally not seeing that as a viable approach going into this Rams vs. Seahawks showdown.

I am also somewhat interested in using Michel in the Captain slot. The point of using him at all is that Seattle’s defense isn’t very good, and Darrell Henderson has been banged up all year.

Michel needs a vulture to work out here, but he’s cheap enough to take on the risk.

D-Jax is obviously one of the most volatile Thursday Night Football fantasy picks you can use, but one deep short, and he pans out beautifully. He will be low-owned in general, and I imagine his Captain ownership will be under 10%.

You still want Kupp and at least one Seahawks wide receiver from the other side, and I’d also probably roster one of the quarterbacks. Since Jackson is my Captain and I’m eating the Kupp chalk, Stafford makes sense.

Russell Wilson is a dicey fade, but he has the tougher matchup. Metcalf is more expensive than Tyler Lockett, so there’s slim hope in him being somewhat contrarian, too.

Carson is just too cheap. If he scores even once, he’ll pay off.
