Top NFL DFS Picks to Roster in Week 13 – Jalen Hurts and More

If you stopped by our site for NFL DFS picks last week, my apologies. I am certain it was a rough week no matter where you got your daily fantasy football advice, but I clearly didn’t deliver.
Rob Gronkowski was a good play and Dalvin Cook was fine, but my NFL DFS picks as a whole underwhelmed. It was a really bad week for NFL DFS, of course, and the offensive struggles have pieced together a negative trend for a few weeks now.
Will it continue going into week 13, and should you just pick random players? Perhaps, but I’ll still look at the main slate and offer my advice. Going into week 13, here are my favorite NFL DFS picks, and why you may want to roster them at DraftKings.
Jalen Hurts, QB, Eagles ($7k)
This is a bad week for the quarterback position. Kyler Murray isn’t healthy, and guys like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and even Aaron Rodgers aren’t available.
Lamar Jackson stands out as the most expensive option here, but I prefer shaving $800 off the salary and trusting in Jalen Hurts. Just keep in mind that he’s a little banged up.
Obviously if Hurts is out, you can’t play him. But if he’s in, I expect a big bounce-back game against the lowly Jets.
- 11th most fantasy points allowed
- 7th most passing yards allowed
- 12th most passing TDs allowed
Hurts always offers a solid floor thanks to his rushing ability, but this matchup sets up nicely for him as a thrower.
New York’s weak offense plays into their defensive struggles, so Hurts should get plenty of opportunities to crush in this spot. Just make sure he’s healthy and ready to rock before locking him into your week 13 NFL DFS lineups.
Elijah Mitchell, RB, 49ers ($6k)
There is some really nice value at running back this week. Alexander Mattison is priced up, so I’m probably considering paying up for Jonathan Taylor, and then finding value.
Mitchell stands out as the best value at the position, as he finally blew up last week.

The role is there for this guy to absolutely crush. Now he is in a huge spot against the Seahawks, who have been terrible against the run all year.
Seattle ranks 31st against fantasy running backs in points per game, and on Monday they gave up two scores to J.D. McKissic of all people.
Mitchell is rounding into form and looks like a smash play here.
Odell Beckham Jr, WR, Rams ($5.5k)
This might end up being an obvious play. However, a lot of people are still down on Beckham Jr. thanks to his shakiness in Cleveland, as well as his inability to stay healthy.
He did appear to be a bit nicked up last week, but he still turned 10 targets into five catches, 81 yards, and a touchdown (19.1 fantasy points) against Green Bay.
The blowout risk is real here. The most reputable NFL sportsbooks have the Rams as 13-point favorites in a must-win game at Jacksonville, but I think Beckham Jr. can be part of their success.
All things considered, he has a pretty good role in a high-upside offense, and his price and matchup look great. I have no qualms clicking his name when building NFL DFS lineups this week.
George Kittle, TE, 49ers ($5.9k)
I prefer the 49ers’ ground game this week, but I won’t shy away from the explosive George Kittle at this price.
Kittle has a few things working in his favor this week.
- He’s the most talented tight end on the board
- He’s coming in at a slight discount
- Seattle is vulnerable against TEs
Logan Thomas nearly scored against the Seahawks on Monday night, and Seattle enters week 13 allowing the 10th most fantasy points to the tight end position.
Whether he’s actually needed in this game is a valid question, but tight end is a terrible position to mess around with. I might just pay the price to (hopefully) get 10-15 fantasy points here and move along.
Philadelphia Eagles Defense ($3.6k)
I don’t prefer to pay up at the team defense slot, but the Eagles really stand out this week. They’re not a terrible price for a defense that has performed extremely well, and also happens to face human turnover machine, Zach Wilson.
Things have not gone swimmingly for the would-be franchise quarterback.

I tend to think things don’t suddenly turn around for Wilson here. Philly isn’t getting after the quarterback with fervor, but he could do a lot of the work for them.
Other NFL DFS Picks for Week 13
- Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams ($7.3k)
- Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts ($9.2k)
- DK Metcalf, WR, Seahawks ($6.7k)
- Dallas Goedert, TE, Eagles ($4.5k)
- Los Angeles Rams Defense ($4k)
I’m on Team Rams this week. You can consider any and all combinations. They’ve dropped three games in a row and get a smash spot against the Jags. They can’t have a letdown here.
Stafford kicks things off, and really all of the top L.A. weapons could pan out this week.
JT is worth the price of admission. His price tag is hefty, but he dropped 30 fantasy points the last time he faced Houston. Would anyone be floored if he doubled it?
Metcalf is the squeaky wheel for week 13.
I’d imagine he gets force-fed here. It’s not the best matchup, but he can be matchup-proof when he and the Seahawks put their mind to it.
Goedert has been quiet, but he has a good matchup. He looks like a decent stacking option with Hurts this week. I also wouldn’t hate going all-in on the Rams when it comes to their defense. I probably will go the cheap route, but it’s unlikely they do anything but dominate Jacksonville.
That does it for my week 13 NFL DFs picks. Ideally, my core pans out, and helps you get to the cash line. From there, you may need to make a few calls to separate yourself from the pack.
