Week 7 of the 2020 NFL season kicks off with the NFC East showdown between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football.

The Giants are coming off their first win in 2020 and will try their best to remain on the winning path. However, the Giants have been terrible against the Eagles lately, so the hosts hope for another victory over their divisional foes.

I’ve prepared all the tips and trends you need to know for this one along with my best Giants vs. Eagles betting pick, so let’s take a closer look.

Giants vs. Eagles Odds

Giants +6.0-110
Eagles -6.0-110
Giants to Win+220
Eagles to Win-260
Over 45.5-110
Under 45.5-110

The Eagles are 1-4-1, still enough for the second-best in the NFC East that is undoubtedly the worst division in football this season. The Giants are right behind with a 1-5 record.

When it comes to head-to-head-duels, the Eagles have won seven straight encounters with the Giants and 11 of the previous 12. The Giants are winless in six straight visits to Lincoln Financial Field, but they’ve covered in the last three trips to Philadelphia.

New York Giants

The Giants barely outlasted the Washington Football Team 20-19 this past Sunday thanks to another strong performance by their defensive unit. New York allows 25.3 points per game (16th in the NFL) on 342.0 total yards (12th) but scores only 16.8 points in a return (31st) on 275.3 total yards (32nd).

If they want to continue winning games this season, the Giants have to improve offensively a lot. Daniel Jones is a complete disaster, as the second-year signal-caller has tossed for only 1,223 yards and three touchdowns thus far, but he’s also recorded six interceptions.

Jones threw for paltry 112 yards, one TD, and one pick against the Eagles. At least, he had seven carries for 74 yards, as the Giants’ ground game is struggling mightily since Saquon Barkley suffered a season-ending injury.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are coming off a 30-28 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, tallying their second straight loss. They scored 22 points in the fourth quarter, trying to overcome a huge deficit, but the Eagles failed to convert a two-point conversion with 1:55 left on the clock.

Carson Wentz had a good game, tossing for 213 yards and a couple of touchdowns. Miles Sanders had nine carries for 118 yards, while Travis Fulgham added six catches for 75 yards and a TD, but that wasn’t enough for an upset, as the Eagles were listed as huge 9.5-point home dogs.

Philadelphia is having big problems with injured players on both sides of the ball. The Eagles’ offensive line and receiving corps are completely banged-up, so it’s no strange they are averaging just 23.5 points per contest (22nd) on 329.3 total yards (27th). Phila surrenders 29.2 points in a return (23rd) on 355.2 total yards (16th).

Giants vs. Eagles Pick

The Giants and Eagles will meet each other for the first time this season, and as I’ve mentioned, the hosts will look to extend their dominance over New York.

However, the Eagles’ are ruined with injuries and will have a mountain to climb against the Giants’ solid defense. They will struggle to move the ball, so I don’t see the Eagles winning this one easily even though they are listed as firm favorites.

The Giants should have enough firepower to keep it close. I’m backing them to cover a 9.5-point spread, and the Giants are 4-2 ATS in their previous six matchups with the Eagles. Also, Phila is only 2-6 ATS in its last eight outings at home.
