The growing disaster that is the New York Giants’ 2020 season will continue in Week 4 when the G-Men head west to take on the Los Angeles Rams. Saying that the Giants have been disappointing would be an understatement. While they were relatively competitive in their first two outings, they looked completely out of sorts against an injury-riddled San Francisco squad in Week 3. They didn’t even register a touchdown in the blowout loss.

After falling behind 28-3 in the third quarter of their Week 3 match against Buffalo, the Rams mounted a furious comeback to take the lead late in the 4th quarter. However, Buffalo managed to score the game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds left on the clock. This matchup should be entertaining despite the 12-point spread. The Giants should be in desperation mode while the Rams look to bounce back.

Giants vs. Rams Odds

Giants +12-115
Rams -12-105
Giants Moneyline+450
Rams Moneyline-600
Over 48-115
Under 48-105

The Giants are dealing with a slew of injuries with Saquon Barkley’s being the most notable. The offense has shown very little, which is one reason for the 12-point spread. Even with Barkley, it’s quite likely that the G-Men would be double-digit dogs.

A few die-hard fans might be tempted by a +450 moneyline play on New York, but there probably won’t be a lot of interest in the -600 Rams moneyline. The biggest X-factor with betting the total is the Giants ability to score. While the Rams gave up 35 points in Week 3, their defense looked pretty solid in their first two games.

New York Giants

Without Barkley, it seems that New York’s attack will focus on quarterback Daniel Jones. In his three starts this season, Jones has 60.2% of his passes but has only tossed a pair of touchdowns against four interceptions. One bright spot has been his ability to scramble for some decent gains. He racked up 49 yards in Week 3 on five carries which was far more than the 17 combined rushing yards that Devonta Freeman and Wayne Gallman had to show for their 9 rushes.

Despite Week 3’s lopsided score, this team’s defense hasn’t been terrible. Even though three of the four San Francisco touchdowns came via the run, the Niners were only able to record 93 yards on their 35 carries. On the other hand, they allowed Nick Mullens to rack up 343 yards through the air. It’s difficult to imagine them slowing down Los Angeles’ air attack.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams fought valiantly in their Week 3 loss to the Bills. Still, the fact that they trailed 28-3 in the third quarter is concerning. Darrell Henderson had a big day piling up 114 yards and a score on 20 carries. He figures to play a prominent role in Week 4. Of course, Jared Goff and his receivers could be in for a productive Week 4 against a Giants defense that has allowed the likes of Nick Mullens and an embattled Mitch Trubisky to boast an average QB rating of 102.9.

As for the Rams’ defense, they should hold the upper hand against a largely punchless Giants offense that has scored just four touchdowns in three games.

My Giants vs. Rams Pick

The Rams excel as double-digit favorites. While they have only been in this situation six times since 2013, they are 5-1 SU and ATS in those games. However, we should expect the Giants to have a better showing than they had in last week’s debacle. Simply put, they embarrassed themselves and they should be playing with a chip on their shoulder. New York probably won’t come out of Week 4 with a win, but they should be able to keep it a bit closer.
