Both teams are still fighting at the end of the season as, despite the Giants having a 5-9 negative record, they can still win the NFC East division, and the Ravens are looking to cement a playoff spot in the AFC.

Both teams have won three of their last five games, but whereas the Ravens have won their last three, the Giants have lost their last two.

The Ravens have edged the recent head-to-head record, winning three of the last five games between the two. One thing to note in those five games is that the home team on the day won each of the five games.

Giants vs. Ravens Odds

  • Giants +9.5 -110
  • Ravens -9.5 -110
  • Giants To Win +418
  • Ravens To Win -522

The odds on the Ravens are far shorter than I expected, and the spread looks very big too. Let’s break things down and see where the value for the game is.

Giants News

After winning four in a row, the Giants have recorded back to back defeats against the Cardinals and the Browns. In the two defeats, their offense failed miserably, scoring seven and six points. In fact, this has been the case for a large portion of the season as they have the second-worst scoring average in the league with just 17 points averaged per game. That’s no wonder, given they are averaging less than 300 yards gained per week.

On the road, they have won three of their seven fixtures, which in actual fact is their last three away fixtures played. They beat NFC East title challengers Washington, the Bengals, and most recently the Seahawks, which is certainly no mean feat.

The Giants have been involved in low scoring games recently as all five of their recent games have seen under the betting total, as has five of the last seven matchups on the road. However, four of the last six against Baltimore has seen over the betting total.

Defensively they have been decent, averaging just 22 points per game against them and only just over 100 rushing yards. Linebacker Blake Martinez has been an integral part of this, racking up 128 tackles this year, less than ten behind league leader Zach Cunningham. They also have the fifth-highest number of sacks in the league.

Ravens News

Following three straight defeats, the Ravens have strung together three wins in a row to put them into playoff contentions.

At home, the Ravens have won four of their seven matches, including the last two in a row. They have also beaten the Giants all three times that they have met at the M&T Bank Stadium.

The Ravens games have been open affairs with four of the last five seeing over the betting total scored, as has four of their last five at home. This has largely been down to the Raven’s impressive attack, having averaged 28 points per game this season. They have the best rushing attack in the league this year, averaging 172 rushing yards gained per game, which is almost as many as their passing yards gained.

Their offense is backed up by a solid defense, which is averaging just 20 points against them per game, which is the fourth-best in the league. They have also forced by far the most fumbles this season.

Giants vs. Ravens Betting Pick

  • Giants +9.5

The Ravens are rightful favorites here, but as mentioned, they are very short-priced. The key to the match could be running the ball, can the best rushing attack break down a solid and resolute Giants defense? Given how good the Giants have been on the road recently, I am going to say no and take the Giants with the handicap
