New York City FC vs. New England Revolution – MLS, June 19, 2021

Two MLS teams in good form clash on Saturday, June 19, as New York City welcomes New England to the Big Apple.
The Revs find themselves three points clear at the Eastern Conference summit after losing just one of their opening eight matches this season. Meanwhile, Ronny Deila’s men have only suffered two defeats this year and sit fourth in the standings.
If you’re here for my New York City vs. New England Revolution prediction and betting pick, make sure you keep reading.
New York City vs. New England Odds
With the home-field advantage on their side, the Bronx Blues are the bookies’ favorites to win this one. However, you should think twice about betting against in-form New England at the moment.
Considering the Revs have only lost one of their eight games in 2021 (five wins, two draws), the attractive odds for both the draw bet and New England are definitely worth considering here.
NYCFC Team News and Analysis
After suffering a shock loss to DC United on the opening weekend of the campaign, New York City was clearly determined to make amends. The following weekend, NYCFC crushed Cincinnati 5-0.
Having bagged a brace against Cincy, Jesus Medina scored again as New York City beat Philadelphia 2-0 in Week 3. The Paraguayan has made an eye-catching start to the season, netting five goals in seven appearances.
Deila’s men extended their unbeaten streak to four matches with back-to-back draws against Orlando and Toronto before losing to Colombus. But they bounced back last time out, returning to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over LAFC.
While Medina has been the obvious star of the show for NYCFC this term, Valentin Castellanos has tried his best to steal some of the limelight. The 22-year-old has racked up four goals and two assists in 2021 and looks set for another successful season.
Assessing the Revs’ Recent Form
Given that Bruce Arena’s men lead New York City by six points in the standings, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that they are the second-highest scorers in the conference.
New England has already netted over 1.5 goals on three occasions this year and has yet to fire a blank in 2021.
Having dispatched Columbus, RBNY, and Cincy before the recent break, they will fancy their chances of picking up a fourth straight win this weekend.
Adam Buksa has notched four goals this term, while Gustavo Bou (two goals, one assist) and Carles Gil (one goal, three assists) have played important supporting roles.
Between the sticks, Matt Turner has achieved three shutouts. With everything going to plan in both attack and defense, New England is the team to beat right now.
Prediction and Pick for New York City vs. Revs
-
The Draw3.50
The online sportsbooks favor New York City to win this one, but I just can’t see New England losing. The Revs have been immense so far this year, making it extremely difficult to bet against them.
For that reason, the draw is my New York City vs. New England Revolution betting pick. I expect Deila’s men to give the Revs a run for their money on Saturday, but I’m confident that New England will return home without at least one point.
