DC United opened the Hernan Losada era with an impressive 2-1 victory over New York City last weekend. Next up, DC faces New England at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, April 24.

The Revs opened their 2021 account with a 2-2 draw against Chicago, despite conceding two early goals. Bruce Arena’s men will now be aiming to extend their winning streak against DC to four games.

After analyzing the MLS odds, I will share my New England Revolution vs. DC United prediction, along with my betting pick for Saturday’s clash.

New England Revolution vs. DC United Odds

New England Revolution to Win1.44
The Draw4.00
DC United to Win6.25

DC United may have kicked off the new campaign with a win, but let’s not forget that New England finished 11 points ahead of the Black-and-Red in the Eastern Conference last year.

10bet has obviously taken the 2020 standings into account when pricing up this match. The Revs are clear favorites heading into Saturday’s clash, leaving DC as the rank outsider.

Can the Revs Secure the Win?

When the Revs conceded two goals inside 11 minutes last weekend, they gave themselves a mountain to climb. But before the 30-minute mark, they were back on level terms.

Strikes from Robert Beric and Luka Stojanovic saw Chicago race into a 2-0 lead before Adam Buksa pulled a goal back for New England. Gustavo Bou then equalized, completing the scoring in the opening 27 minutes.

Matt Turner was kept busy between the sticks throughout the game, facing a total of 20 shots – seven of which hit the target. However, the highly-rated shot-stopper pulled off a series of eye-catching saves to earn a point for his side.

Not only have Bruce Arena’s men won each of their last three matches against DC, but they are also unbeaten in their previous six meetings.

Having netted a combined total of nine goals across their four meetings in 2020, the Revs will surely be confident of extending their impressive run against the Black-and-Red this weekend.

Assessing DC United’s Chances

DC only managed to win five of their 23 games last season, yet Losada’s men are already on their way to surpassing last year’s win tally.

An early goal from Valentin Castellanos saw NYCFC take the lead at Audi Field on the opening weekend. Last year, the Black-and-Red would have almost certainly crumbled in that situation. But the team showed a newfound character last time out.

Brendan Hines-Ike sparked the revival with a long-range stunner 39 minutes before Russell Canouse completed the comeback just before half-time – volleying home from a corner.

DC may have only played one MLS game under Losada, but the early signs are promising. The new head coach set his team up to attack New York City last weekend, and his forward-thinking approach has certainly excited the Black-and-Red faithful.

The Washington outfit has failed to beat New England in six attempts. Following last weekend’s comeback victory, Losada’s men will fancy their chances of bucking that trend on Saturday.

New England vs. DC United Prediction and Pick

  • DC United to Win

In all honesty, I don’t know why the price for the DC win is so high here. Sure, New England is the bookies’ deserved favorite to claim the victory. But in my opinion, the away win offers staggering value.

Simply for the potential profit, I recommend backing DC to win on Saturday. The Black-and-Red look like a completely different animal under Losada, making odds of 6.25 for the away win too good to miss.
