The New England Patriots suffered their fourth defeat of the season and third in a row as they were dismantled by the San Francisco 49ers at home, and now are hoping to avoid another loss when they travel to Buffalo. The Bills are the best teams in the AFC East, so it’s not going to be easy for the Patriots, who now dropped to a 2-4 record despite a promising start to the season.

The Buffalo Bills managed to snap a two-game losing skid with a road victory over the New York Jets in a low-scoring affair, and are looking to consolidate their first place in the division with a win over New England on Sunday. The Bills improved to a 5-2 record and have a couple of wins more than the Miami Dolphins. Here is my Patriots vs. Bills betting pick.

Patriots vs. Bills Odds

Patriots +4-110
Bills -4-110
Patriots to win+185
Bills to win-189
Over 44.5-110
Under 44.5-110

Patriots Scored Season-Low Six Points in Loss to 49ers

The New England Patriots repeated a pale offensive display after losing to the Denver Broncos at home two weeks ago. This time around, they scored miserable six points in a 33-6 home defeat to the San Francisco 49ers, and it was clear they are going to lose after the first-half performance. The visitors were up 23-3 at halftime, and the Pats couldn’t do anything to stop them. They committed even four turnovers opposite San Francisco’s two and totaled only 241 yards while allowing 467 in return.

Cam Newton had one of the worst games of his career as he completed just nine of 15 passes for 98 yards and three interceptions. Jarrett Stidham, who could get the starting job sooner rather than later, had six completions for 64 yards and an interception. Jakobi Meyers caught four passes for 60 yards, while Damien Harris carried the ball ten times for 58 yards. Devin McCourty continued with his usual contribution to the defense with eight tackles (six solos), and one defended pass.

The Patriots are the 29th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 19.2 points per game, 28th in passing yards (197.2), 4th in rushing yards (155.0), while they have the 12th defense that allows 23.8 points per contest.

Bills Allowed Season-Low Ten Points in Win Over the Jets

The Buffalo Bills did display one of the weakest offensive performances of the season against the worst team in the NFL, the New York Jets, but they show the best defensive display on the other end in an 18-10 victory. Buffalo failed to score a touchdown for the first time in this campaign, but rookie kicker Tyler Bass hit six field goals to help his team getting a much-needed win. The Bills kept the Jets to only 190 total yards, while they collected 422 on the other end.

Josh Allen completed 30 of 43 passes for 307 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions, while he added 61 yards on 11 carries. Cole Beasley recorded his second 100-yard game of the season as he finished the clash with 112 yards on 11 receptions. Buffalo had six sacks in the win and defensive end Jerry Hughes led the bunch with two.

The Bills are the 20th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 24.9 points per game, 6th in passing yards (279.9), 29th in rushing yards (97.0), while they have the 15th defense that allows 25.4 points per contest.

Prediction and Betting Pick

It seems that the Patriots cannot move the chains at the moment and after scoring miserable 18 points in the last two games combined, I don’t think they have the slightest chance against Buffalo. The Bills are 3-0 against the divisional rivals this season, and I am backing them to improve to 4-0 after Sunday’s game. The Pats have a lot of problems with their quarterbacks as none of Newton and Stidham seem to be the leader of the team. I wouldn’t be surprised if they fail to get to the double digits in points in this one, and I am fully backing the Bills to win and cover the spread.
