NBA Predictions For Monday’s Preseason Games – Best Bets for December 14, 2020

The NBA enters its fourth day of preseason play on Monday, offering up a nice six-game slate for willing bettors.

Betting on NBA preseason games is not for the faint of heart, but it’s also a lot of fun. My picks from Friday were a bust, but that’s the nature of this volatile basketball betting genre.

Let’s see the schedule on tap for Monday, December 14th.

At this point, most teams have played at least one preseason game. New Orleans and Miami will be making their 2020 preseason debuts, of course, so pay extra close attention to lineup news for that matchup.

For everyone else, due to the truncated NBA preseason schedule, you can tentatively anticipate the star players getting a bit more run. Keep that in mind as you look to bet using my NBA preseason predictions and top betting picks for Monday.

Cleveland won the first meeting on Saturday, but I doubt they make it two in a row. The Pacers are the more talented team, and the Cavs will also be without star big man Kevin Love.

Indiana should also let their key players roll a bit deep in this one, and given how well Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis played two days ago, I like Indy’s chances here.

The Pels look like a poor bet on Monday, as they historically don’t play much defense, and they’ll be facing a team in Miami that does.

Miami has more reliable talent, too, so assuming they don’t have any major inactives, they understandably stand out. The Pals will also be a bit shorthanded, as guards J.J. Redick and Eric Bledsoe will both be sidelined.

LaMelo Ball scored exactly zero points in his preseason debut, so I imagine he’ll be out to prove he’s a bit better than that. It won’t be easy, though, as he goes up against a gritty Toronto squad.

Kyle Lowry could return for this one, but I wouldn’t let his absence pull me off of Toronto in this spot.

NBA fans and bettors alike get a rematch between Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo on Monday. The Greek Freak won the individual battle, but Dallas stole the first meeting.

Milwaukee is arguably the much better team, and they’re just coming together with all of their offseason moves. Look for them to bounce back and get the win with their regulars seeing a few more minutes in this one.

This one is a total toss-up, as neither of these two teams play great defense. The Grizzlies are slightly better in that regard and were close to the playoffs last year, so they get the mild edge.

Memphis also won the previous meeting by two points on Saturday, so take that for what you will. More than anything, though, I’d bank on more points going down in this one.

Lastly, we get another game between the Suns and Jazz. Utah won 119-105 on Saturday, and I’d imagine Phoenix will answer back with their main players getting more burn.

The same could be said for Utah, but the Suns are going to be a pretty alluring bet if Chris Paul (ankle) is ready to make his preseason debut.

NBA preseason betting can be dicey, but I like the Pacers and Raptors to coast tonight. Indiana will play a bit better than they did in game one under their new coach, and the Cavs will also be down a key veteran.

Kyle Lowry returning would give Toronto a boost, but I like them to win easily against the inferior Hornets, regardless.

New Orleans pushes the pace and are expected to play their main guys a good deal. Look for their game with Miami to feature a ton of points. The Bucks, meanwhile, should bounce-back with a win after falling to Dallas in their preseason opener.
