NBA Predictions and Best Bets – March 30, 2021

Tuesday offers up a light NBA betting schedule, with a tense clash between the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets taking center stage.
That tilt won’t include Joel Embiid, but it should still be the best game on the slate. The question, of course, is how bettors should approach it, as well as the rest of Tuesday’s schedule.
Before we decide that, take a quick look at all eight teams that are suiting up on March 30th, 2021.
- Charlotte Hornets vs. Washington Wizards
- Philadelphia 76ers vs. Denver Nuggets
- Orlando Magic vs. Los Angeles Clippers
- Atlanta Hawks vs. Phoenix Suns
While that Sixers vs. Nuggets game is the highest-profile contest and should be worth betting on, there’s more to like here.
The action gets started at 7:00 pm ET with a high-octane clash between the Hornets and Wizards, after all.
Atlanta and Phoenix offer a nice nightcap, while the Magic figure to be in a bad spot on the road against Los Angeles.
Let’s get a better idea of how you might want to bet on these games with Tuesday’s NBA predictions and top betting picks.
Charlotte Hornets vs. Washington Wizards Predictions
- Hornets to beat Wizards
- Predicted total: 230-235
Right away, I favor the Hornets. Yes, they’re on the road, but Washington played yesterday. Not only could they be a bit bogged down, but it’s also possible they rest some guys.
Charlotte is down rookie sensation LaMelo Ball, but they actually keep winning games. They’re 6-4 over their last 10, and they offer more defensive potential than the Wiz.
That and the Over has gone 23-21 in their games. I love the Over here, and I also like the Hornets to get a nice road win.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Denver Nuggets Predictions
- Nuggets to beat 76ers
- Predicted total: 220-225
This is the game of the night, in theory. It’s worth noting that the Sixers are a bit more human on the road (13-8), and they also still don’t have big man Joel Embiid.
It could have been an epic showdown between two legit MVP candidates, but alas, Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris will have to do much of the heavy lifting.
I’m not sure I love how that will go. Yes, Philly has the better record, and they’ve been perfectly fine on the road, but they also don’t have anyone that can slow down Nikola Jokic.
Denver is surging these days (7-3 over their last 10), and they’re a solid 13-9 at home. I value health and the home-court edge here. That has me leaning toward the Nuggets, and Denver’s slow pace (29th) probably hints at the Under.
Orlando Magic vs. Los Angeles Clippers Predictions
- Clippers to beat Magic
- Predicted total: 210-215
This is a nightmare game, but bettors do need to consider that the Clippers could always rest some of their key players.
L.A. did just take on the Bucks last night, so Kawhi Leonard and/or Paul George resting wouldn’t shock anyone.
However, the Clippers are already banged up, so there’s a greater chance than usual that they’ll just keep everyone available.
I’m not sure it matters for the Magic, who are 15-31 on the year and 2-8 over their last 10. Orlando has absolutely zero star power, either, as they just traded away most of their starting lineup.
Orlando might have a bright future in terms of prospects and assets, but it’s highly unlikely they win this game or even keep it competitive.
I love the Clippers across the board, and the slow pace combined with Orlando’s depressed offense highlights the Under as a nice secondary bet.
Atlanta Hawks vs. Phoenix Suns Predictions
- Suns to beat Hawks
- Predicted total: 215-220
The other late game could vie for game of the night, should the Hawks decide to bring their A-game. They haven’t lately, as they’ve lost three of their last four following a nice eight-game winning streak.
The Hawks are a respectable 23-23 on the year, but they’re a little banged up, and they’ve struggled with their consistency all season.
That hasn’t been the case for the Suns, who are 31-14 and are just three games back for the best record in basketball.
I love the Suns here, and their pace of play and defense should nudge this one to the Under.
Best NBA Bets for Tuesday, March 30th
If you’re looking for the best NBA bets for Tuesday, March 30th, the four above stand out to me the most.
I love this Hornets vs. Wizards game, but bettors will want to monitor which Washington guys actually suit up. Due to Washington’s poor health and their losing ways, Charlotte feels like a nice straight up bet, but the pace and lack of defense here also point to the Over.
Philly is probably losing in Denver, but by more than five? The 76ers have been very good even without Joel Embiid, and Denver has been below average (7-10) against the spread as a home favorite.
The Hawks could beat a 6-point spread, but Phoenix’s slow pace and defense make the Under the most appealing bet here. The Suns only allow 107 points per game, and the Over is just 21-24 in their games on the year.
