NBA Predictions and Best Bets – February 10, 2021

| February 9, 2021 2:17 pm PDT

The NBA caps Wednesday off in style, with the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns waging war in the desert.

If that wasn’t great enough, this slate also has Luka Doncic vs. Trae Young, as well as numerous other stars such as LeBron James and Nikola Jokic.

Ready to bet on the NBA? First, check out all of the gaps on tap for February 10th, 2021.

  • Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards
  • Atlanta Hawks vs. Dallas Mavericks
  • Los Angeles Clippers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
  • Indiana Pacers vs. Brooklyn Nets
  • Charlotte Hornets vs. Memphis Grizzlies
  • New Orleans Pelicans vs. Chicago Bulls
  • Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Denver Nuggets
  • Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers
  • Milwaukee Bucks vs. Phoenix Suns

It’s a fun one, by the looks of it. The only question will be how injuries impact things and how you should bet.

I’ll help you with the latter. Join me for a look at Wednesday’s NBA predictions and top betting picks to assist you with your bets tonight.

Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards Predictions

  • Raptors to beat Wizards
  • Predicted total: 225-230

Wednesday’s NBA betting slate tips off in D.C., where the Wizards will host the Raptors. Washington gets Russell Westbrook back after a day of rest, but this team has been positively awful on defense.

They won their last game, but they’re a paltry 2-7 at home and 3-7 over their last 10 games.

Toronto, meanwhile, is a very balanced team. They’re also trending in the right direction (6-4 over their last 10 games) and are finally at full strength.

The Wiz can put up points, but they’re not to be trusting in NBA betting circles. You can target the Over at will, but I’d stick to the Raptor’s side of things elsewhere.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Dallas Mavericks Predictions

  • Mavericks to beat Hawks
  • Predicted total: 220-225

Luka Doncic and Trae Young face off for the second time this year. Dallas won a 122-116 shootout, and I like them to get another one at home.

The Hawks are just battered at the moment, and utility forward DeAndre Hunter specifically is out for the next 7-10 weeks with a knee injury.

Atlanta has scoring upside, but they can’t catch a break. Dallas is finally clicking again, too, as they look for their third win in a row tonight.

You can hammer the Over, and I’ll back the Mavs to stay hot at home.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Predictions

  • Clippers to beat Timberwolves
  • Predicted total: 220-225

Minnesota is starting to see what rookie guard Anthony Edwards is capable of, but that’s about all the franchise can get excited about these days.

Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t returned to the lineup yet, and Minnesota is reeling (3-7 over their last 10) without their stud big man.

L.A. could take this opportunity to rest one of their key stars, but the Clippers have actually dropped two in a row. I doubt they chance it here. Bet on the Clippers to coast.

Indiana Pacers vs. Brooklyn Nets Predictions

  • Nets to beat Pacers
  • Predicted total: 230-235

This could be the game of the day in terms of scoring, as the Nets put up 121 points per game but can’t stop anyone defensively.

Brooklyn isn’t really equipped to handle the Pacers down low, but it’s worth noting that Indy is struggling with three straight losses.

I don’t really want to bet on the Pacers here, but this game should have loads of points, and I’d expect it’ll be reasonably close.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Memphis Grizzlies Predictions

  • Hornets to beat Grizzlies
  • Predicted total: 215-220

I love the Hornets as a nice underdog play tonight, if only against the spread. Memphis is getting healthy, and they’re at home, but they’ve still dropped four in a row.

The Grizzlies weirdly won’t give their guys a ton of run, either, so the best players aren’t on the floor enough.

LaMelo Ball is wrecking lately, and I tend to doubt he’ll be taken out of the starting lineup even if/when Devonte’ Graham returns.

He won’t be playing in this one, at the very least, though.

Ball makes the Hornets fun. They’ve won two in a row and six of their last 10. I think he and the Hornets keep it going on Wednesday.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Chicago Bulls Predictions

  • Pelicans to beat Bulls
  • Predicted total: 215-220

The Bulls lost a heartbreaker the other day, as Zach LaVine missed an easy layup that would have sent the game to overtime.

That’s brutal, while Chicago is banged up these days, and they’re feeling it in a stretch where they’re just 4-6 over their last 10 contests.

New Orleans is trending in a much better direction, and they’re the better defensive team. I like their edge in the paint and think this one is theirs if they can just contain LaVine.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Denver Nuggets Predictions

  • Nuggets to beat Cavaliers
  • Predicted total: 210-215

Cleveland’s nice start is fading fast. They’re healthy again, but they’ve dropped four in a row and 8 of their last 10.

The Cavs can still grind games out and compete, but they’re not easy to trust. They’ll especially be in an impossible spot on the road against the Nuggets.

Denver is historically tough to beat at home, while this is a matchup Nikola Jokic can feast in.

The Nuggets are spotty – they’ve lost three in a row – but this is a classic “get right” spot if I’ve ever seen one.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers Predictions

  • Lakers to beat Thunder
  • Predicted total: 215-220

OKC is another team that is banged up, yet they pushed the Lakers to overtime on Monday. Anthony Davis wasn’t on hand for that game, and it’s reasonable to anticipate he’ll be back for this one.

Either way, the Lakers probably won’t take the Thunder so lightly this time around.

L.A. remains one of the best teams in the NBA at 19-6, and they’re a strong 7-4 at the Staples Center. They’ve also won five straight, and I don’t see them coughing this one up.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Phoenix Suns Predictions

  • Suns to beat Bucks
  • Predicted total: 215-220

The last game on the schedule is potentially the best game of the night. It probably requires Chris Paul to play to take it to that level, of course.

CP3 was rested in Phoenix’s last game, so I’d imagine he’s back. Bettors may also want to monitor the status of Jrue Holiday, who sat out Milwaukee’s last game due to the league’s health and safety protocols.

Milwaukee is on fire with five consecutive wins, and there is little doubt that they’re the better team. That said, they’re quite human (7-6) on the road, and Phoenix is very good defensively.

If Holiday is out and CP3 is back, I love the Suns to get the upset.

Best NBA Bets for Wednesday, February 10th

  • Hawks vs. Mavericks Over 233.5 (-110)
  • Hornets (+4) -110
  • Nuggets (-9.5) -110

There are some NBA odds out for tomorrow, but admittedly, not really for the games I prefer. I really like Phoenix as what I can only assume is going to be a home underdog.

They’re very appealing, either as a straight-up winner or to beat whatever spread is assigned to that game.

You can lean on my other NBA predictions for any other bets, as my insight and picks should at least lead you in the right direction.

As for the betting lines that are out there at the top NBA betting sites right now, I love Charlotte at +4, and they’re also an interesting moneyline option. They just look really good right now with LaMelo Ball leading the charge.

That Hawks vs. Mavs game will surely be total fire, too. Atlanta is an OK against the spread pick, but I’d much rather bet on Dallas to win or the Over.

Denver has to snap out of their funk. They are at home against the Cavs, and they’re barely hanging onto the last seed in the Western Conference. Look for them to be focused in a rout at home.
