Top NBA Player Prop Bets for Thursday, December 16, 2021
The NBA slows down with just four games on Thursday night. Even so, there should be enough good NBA player props to target at the top NBA sportsbooks.
Last night I handed out four props I loved. Only one hit, but Jrue Holiday getting 36+ assists+points+rebounds sure was a nice one (+125). I was very close to getting three blocks out of Clint Capela (2), as well, while LeBron James and Kyle Lowry failed despite playing gobs of minutes.
You don’t have to play all of my NBA player props together. Parlay them, or just pick your spots. With that, let’s see which NBA player prop bets stand out for Thursday, December 16, 2021.
Nicolas Claxton Over 15+ Points+Rebounds+Assists (-196)
Smash this one over at Sportsbetting.ag as soon as possible. The Nets are really hurting for healthy bodies right now.
So much so, they had eight guys on hand last time out, and they had to bring in Langston Galloway.

Galloway’s presence doesn’t change much. Claxton will still have to play a ton, and this 15+ total is just such a low hurdle. Last game he had 24+, so while the value isn’t through the roof here, this feels like a winner.
Aim as high as 21+ (+209) if you want more upside, but he’s still a guy that is prone to foul trouble and should be matched up with Joel Embiid a lot. Even so, 15+ is well within reach, and feels like a great bet to get the party started with.
Garrison Mathews Over 10+ Points (-208)
This prop isn’t an amazing price, either, but it’s another one I think can hit. If you need more money coming back, just up the ante to 12+ (-111) or 14+ points (+114). Just know that the higher you go, the tougher it’ll be to hit.
Regardless, I like Mathews to score a bit tonight. He has been very quiet over his last two games (0-10 from three, 6 total points), but that follows quite the tear.
- 12 points
- 23 points
- 19 points
- 13 points
- 16 points
- 14 points
Mathews is going to see more minutes if he can hit his shots again, and tonight he’s got a decent chance of making that happen against the Knicks.
New York has been a middle-of-the-pack defense against three-point shooters this year, giving up the 15th most threes per game this season. Opponents also shoot 35.4% from long range (19th best).
Mathews still has a solid role and just needs to heat up a bit. I think he does that tonight against the Knicks at home, where he averages over 10 more points per contest.
Deandre Ayton Over 31+ Points+Rebounds+Assists (-179)
Ayton is going to feast tonight. Washington has done a good job against guards on the year, but they have no answer for skilled big men down low.
Washington ranks 29th in points allowed inside the paint per game, and their opponents shoot the third most free throws per game. The Wiz do tend to rebound well, but Ayton should have the edge against them in that regard, as well.
He certainly comes in with strong form, too, having gone off against Portland in his last outing.
Deandre Ayton had 28 points and 13 rebounds in his return from a non-COVID-19 illness, and the Suns held off the Trail Blazers to win in overtime.https://t.co/OmbYcRSUZ2

With Devin Booker still out, Ayton should be very busy against a Washington lineup he should be able to dominate.
My Top NBA Player Prop for Thursday
Joel Embiid Over 24+ Points-125
I’ve been aiming for higher payouts in recent installments of my NBA player prop bets, but today I just went with the best bets.
All of these are at Sportsbetting.ag, but feel free to look for better wagers and odds wherever you bet on sports online.
This last one feels like a great play, assuming Embiid doesn’t take a seat tonight. That’s always possible, as he was a late scratch on Monday and just played last night.
Aim as high as 30+ here (+154), but this 24-point range at -125 feels like a fantastic bet.
