Top NBA DFS Picks and Advice for Monday, January 10, 2022

| January 10, 2022 9:51 am PDT

There is no NFL action on Monday night, so all eyes are on the basketball world. That should have been the case on “Klay Day”, which saw the emotional return of Klay Thompson.

Nothing will live up to that tonight, but the NBA still pushes out a fun 7-game schedule. You can bet on the games at the best NBA sportsbooks, or you can try you hand at some daily fantasy basketball.

I’ve got you covered or the latter. Things can change up until lock, but to get you started, let’s dive into my top NBA DFS picks, some sleepers, and my free lineup for January 10, 2022.

NBA DFS Picks for Monday Night

  • Keifer Sykes, PG, Pacers ($4.6k)
  • Anfernee Simons, SG, Blazers ($6.4k)
  • Nassir Little, SF, Blazers ($5k)
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo, PF, Bucks ($12k)
  • Jusuf Nurkic, C, Blazers ($7k)

Portland is probably my favorite source of options tonight. They’re on the second leg of a back-to-back set, but they’re still without Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum.

They won’t have Norm Powell for Monday’s tilt with the Nets, either.

Nurk Alert stands out as the big stud for them, and he’s just too cheap if he’s going to keep getting well over 30 minutes. Simons and Little also stand out as core plays to me given all of the absences.

Someone on the Pacers will be too cheap to ignore, assuming both Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert remain out. Both are trending toward a return, but they could miss tonight’s game.

If so, Sykes stands out due to his salary, but you also will want to consider Duane Washington Jr. and Lance Stephenson.

This is not a slate short on studs.

You will need to get at least one of them, and barring a surprise inactive, the guy that pops to me is The Greek Freak.

Giannis is very expensive, but he has the best projection of the slate, and he has the best NBA DFS environment against the Hornets (1st in pace, 27th in defense).

Fantasy Basketball Sleepers for 1/10

  • Immanuel Quickley, PG, Knicks ($4.9k)
  • Lonnie Walker IV, SG, Spurs ($4.2k)
  • CJ Elleby, SF, Blazers ($3k)
  • Keita Bates-Diop, PF, Spurs ($3.8k)
  • Hassan Whiteside, C, Jazz ($5.2k)

I am not enamored with the value on this slate. More sleepers will make themselves known, but for now, you’re looking at Spurs, Blazers, Whiteside, and perhaps Quickley.

The latter logged 37 minutes in a start in his last game. He has benefited from Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker missing time, so I’d probably need one or both to be out again to roll with him at this salary.

Walker and Bates-Diop are both getting solid burn given how many players San Antonio has been missing. Doug McDermott could make his way back, but these guys figure to be in play once again tonight.

Elleby is quite the dumpster dive, but the Blazers are really thin these days. I think he’s a viable punt, but he is not without risk.

Whiteside has been a failure in his last two starts, and his price has come up. However, he still feels like one of the better values on the slate. He historically is a strong per-minute producer, and Rudy Gobert is still sidelined.

Top NBA DFS Lineup for January 10, 2022

  • PG: Immanuel Quickley – Knicks ($4.9k)
  • SG: Anfernee Simons – Blazers ($6.4k)
  • SF: Nassir Little – Blazers ($5k)
  • PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Bucks ($12k)
  • C: Hassan Whiteside – Jazz ($5.2k)
  • G: Lance Stephenson – Pacers ($5.5k)
  • F: Keita Bates-Diop – Spurs ($3.8k)
  • UTIL: Jusuf Nurkic – Blazers ($7k)

Anytime a team is severely undermanned, I tend to lean in their direction. A small amount of guys should soak up most of the usage, which should equate to DFS success.

Tonight that looks to be Portland, so I love a core of Simons, Nurkic, and Little. Elleby is a nice punt, but I doubt I’ll force him in unless we hear he gets a start.

Quickley and Stephenson are plays that depend on other news, but for now I don’t mind them. Whiteside is also a solid try again tonight, and depending on news, KBD also looks solid.

Giannis is the top stud and I won’t get cute there.

However, as has happened in the past, don’t be shocked if he’s a late scratch. Suddenly, we’re stacking the Bucks with the Blazers.

Hopefully my NBA DFS picks help you figure out your process for tonight. If you want more ways to profit from The Association, hit up the top sites for betting on the NBA.
