Mountaineer Racetrack Picks – Tuesday, November 17, 2020

| November 16, 2020 1:58 pm PDT

Tuesday’s racing schedule at Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort brings us nine maiden, claiming, and allowance matches for our wagering pleasure.

The weather in New Cumberland, West Virginia is going to be cold and blustery, with a high of 42 degrees and a 30% likelihood of snow showers. Oh, and winds around 15 mph to complete the picture of a day best spent indoors.

This might be a good time to mention that you can always find Mountaineer Racetrack’s entire race card — including entries, morning line odds, jockeys, and wagering options — at one of our recommended horse racing betting sites.

Now, read on for my Mountaineer Racetrack picks and tips for Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

Pick for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 3

This is a maiden special weight race for three-year-olds running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs for a purse of $15,500.

I’m going with the second-favored (4/1) entry — Robertos Ticket, with Luis H. Colon in the irons. This gelding moneyed two of his seven career starts, placing third and second, respectively, in his latest two races, and he’s performed well in recent workouts.

There are three longer-odds entries in this race, but none has a record of starts, and their recent workout performances do not suggest any pleasant surprises in store for them today.

  • Win: Robertos Ticket 4/1

Pick for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 4

This is a maiden special weight race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $15,500.

I’m going with the second-favored (7/2) entry — Lincoln Center, with Guillermo Rodriguez aboard. This three-year-old filly moneyed six of her twelve career starts, and notably, all six of those money finishes were her most recent starts. And speaking of having a very good year, Rodriguez is upping his wins/WPS stats bigly in 2020.

There are no value show bets in this field.

  • Win: Lincoln Center 7/2

Pick for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 8

This is an allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs for a purse of $17,800.

I’m going with the 7/5 morning line favorite here — Includere, ridden by Luis H. Colon. This seven-year-old mare finished in the money 39 of her 64 career starts, winning 19 of them.

There’s only one long-odds entry in this race, and despite some slight improvement this year, that horse is not going to be collecting a paycheck at the finish line.

  • Win: Includere 7/5
